After living in the Middle East, I was skeptical at first of a Mediterranean restaurant coming to Calhoun, GA of all places. Ameer's is as authentic as it comes. We have made Ameer's a weekly visit- it's that good!
-Quality and fresh ingredients, everything prepared freshly in house down to the smallest spice, seasoning, and sauce.
-Extensive menu options for everyone
-The food is delicious! Every meal and course we have had exceeded expectations. Every item on the menu is packed with flavor.
-The value is unmatched. The prices are comparable to Mediterranean cuisine, but you get more than what you pay for. You'll never leave hungry. We always have leftovers, even after sharing a combo.
-Desserts are delectable and freshly made.
-The staff are extremely generous and welcoming. They go above and beyond to take care of their customers.
-Service is quick and orders have always been completely accurate.
-The place is very clean and the atmosphere is warm and vibrant.
-Location is convenient to all (locals and travelers from I-75).

Read moreWe saw this restaurant awhile ago and just recently decided to try it as I love Mediterranean food. We didn't before because the lot was full. When we did get a chance to eat here, the lot was almost empty. It had a sign up that advertised a County Buffet with the Mediterranean. At first, we thought there were 2 different restaurants. The person who seated us was extremely nice, but it's confusing when you don't even see a Buffet, as it was tucked back in the back sitting area. (Which was HOT.) The Buffet, which was supposed to be half Country and half Mediterranean only had about 2 dishes that could possibly be Mediterranean, which did not taste food at all. I found a few things to try as I tend not to eat "Country Style" and eventually got a salad with mediocre dressing. My mother likes County Style, but was not impressed. She said the meatloaf was good, but cold, so she didn't eat more than a couple of bites because she didn't want to chance getting sick from cold meat in a very HOT room. Definitely not a good...
Read moreIf you're looking for lunch/dinner in Calhoun, you'd be absolutely crazy not to go to Ameer's! Honestly, we had no idea this place existed. It's off the road behind Huddle House. We went to Huddle House for breakfast one weekend and just happened to notice the building. We love Mediterranean food so we made a point to go for dinner. Our only regret is not knowing they were there before. Ameer's serves up some of the best Mediterranean food I have ever had. The lamb kabobs were cooked rare, as requested, and we're seasoned perfectly. The rice was fluffy, the cucumber, tomato, onion, bell pepper salad was fresh and crunchy, the hummus was incredibly creamy. We had appetizers as well, fresh, soft, warm pita with hummus, incredible grape leaves, and hands down the best falafel I have ever had. And being stuffed as we were, we were hesitant to order dessert, but we did anyway. The baklava (your choice of pistachio or walnut) was so crispy, flaky, light and sweet. We waddled out beyond satisfied and will 1000% be repeat customers...
