UPDATE: I reached out to their website 3x since my first review and haven't received a response. This doesn't appear to be the first time this employee has caused issues. There are multiple reviews that support the idea that the Habit corporation doesn't care about their store managers providing the least bit of customer service. Is this the level of importance and care they feel towards their customers? Seems pretty clear across the board since all they are able to reply to negative reviews are along the lines of very basic "Oh no, so sorry for the trouble. Please reach out to 'so-and-so' so we can make it right."
Terrible.
Original review: The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life.
My family wanted to try the worlds "best burger" and came across the Habit burger in Campbell. We walked in and placed an order through the kiosk. I received a confirmation text and after about 10 minutes, I then received a text that the order was ready. My husband received the tray from the counter (as stated in the text confirmation). When he walked back to the table we started distributing the food and noticed the burger had avocado on it (not part of our original order). It was our first time at Habit so we weren't familiar with what the burgers looked like, but we knew our burger wasn't supposed to have avocado on it. We proceeded to put the items back on the tray to bring to the counter when "Christopher" in a blue button up and name tag rudely accused us of taking the wrong order. All of the items on the tray were the exact same items in our original order (down to the kids juice and the 2 sides of ranch dipping sauce). The only difference was the avocado in the burger (which had no lettuce, but still had 2 pattie's and cheese). Christopher (who we are now assuming to be the manager on duty) stared at us with a blank face and proceeded to insist that we took the wrong tray. Mind you, there was ONLY ONE tray on the counter when we received the text that our order was ready. He then snatched the burger from our tray and aggressively threw the avocado burger in the trash behind us, while walking away angrily to "remake" our burger. He stated that another patron had the same order and proceeded to put the blame on us for having the wrong burger on our tray. Upon walking around the restaurant, there were no patrons mirroring our "supposed order", so if we had taken the incorrect tray.. where would our actual order had been? When Christopher came by the table with the correct burger on a tray, he stared blankly at my husband with no words. No apology. Holding the tray with one hand, not caring if it were to fall or anything. Just treating us with complete disrespect and no regard for customer service in the slightest. We were paying customers and expect at least the very little of customer service. We haven't ever received service this bad at any establishment (food, retail, entertainment etc). We asked for accountability, an apology but there was none on Christopher's part. Instead of apologizing, or trying to hear our part, he just waved his hands in our faces and simply said "it's fixed, it's fixed". In our eyes, it has not been fixed. He was completely unprofessional and Christopher has made it a point that he doesn't feel responsible for the errors that occurred on his part.
Is the best burger in the US worth the it for the worst customer service ever?! No. Plain and simple. Save yourself the time and trouble, go to...
Read moreFor those scanning reviews, here's the bottom-line: The Habit Burger Grill makes an absolutely delicious charbroiled hamburger. Stop by, and get one. Thank me later.
For a bit of a backstory, I've been eating burgers ever since they became a reward from my father for me having mowed the lawns on Saturday mornings as a kid. Perhaps like you, I've been enjoying hamburgers from all over the place - fast food places, chain restaurants, vacation spots, mom & pop diners, greasy spoons, and even the Ritz Carlton. The Habit's charburgers have risen above all others.
But, the Habit has got more than just straight charbroiled burgers. They've got specialty burgers. They've got chicken, Ahi tuna, veggie, and steak sandwiches. They've got tasty salads. They've even got grilled cheese sandwiches and chicken nuggets for the kids (and the kids in us).
Here's what I like about the Habit Burger Grill: The prices are easy on the wallet. The service is fast & friendly (even when I just happen to randomly be wearing an In & Out burger T-shirt). The food is delicious. The menu offers multiple choices for those who like to experiment. The seating area is kept clean, and they're quick to take care of messes.
Because the Habit is has been building a loyal following, it can get pretty busy at lunchtime. In fact, so much so that it can be challenge grabbing a table at times. The Campbell location has no exterior tables. But, generally a short wait inside is all that it takes to get a table. I'd personally like to see the seating area enlarged in the Habit locations to accomodate more people during busy times.
In wrapping it all up, the Habit Burger Grill has earned my highest recommendation. It's now officially my favorite burger place. Taste a charburger or grilled chicken salad, and you'll...

They do a great job with their ahi tuna sandwich, tempura green beans, and onion rings. My husband loves their Santa Barbara sandwich. Good burgers. I had such bad experiences with their salads in the recent past that I've been afraid to try them again, so I cannot recommend them based on that. I would give 5 stars if I could trust their salads.
Previous review:
I had a horrible grilled chicken salad here tonight served with tiny pieces of old, cold chicken (hardly any chicken) on a bed of brown-tinged romaine and tomatoes, onions, and carrots that had seen better days. Not edible, I returned the war-torn salad for my money back.
About a week before the above salad disappointment, I ordered their garden salad with tuna as the protein. This salad was just as disappointing as the grilled chicken salad experience I described above. The shredded carrots were dehydrated looking, old tomatoes, etc. The tuna tasted okay, but the amount of tuna given was about half the amount they used to offer. The filet was laid across the top of the salad in one big piece, maybe to hide the old-looking veggies.
Unlike the great salads they used to make fresh, it appears they are making them ahead in a cookie-cutter fashion. Not good.
My tempura green beans were stone cold. Usually, they're nice & hot.
This place used to have reliably good food. The chicken salad used to have decent-sized chunks of hot, grilled chicken. And the tempura green beans were served hot. The Yum! company bought The Habit chain a few years ago, the same folks who own Taco Bell, etc. This place is going downhill fast. The corporate, bean-counting mentality is ruining...
