Rude to non-locals! Also very judgmental and let me say it again rude at times. They openly allow people to cut in line and if you have a larger family be prepared for criticism on your life choices. Never would I recommend this place to any person not deserving of the 7th circle of hell.
Update after "owner response": I completely understand you and your staff not appreciating negative reviews. I don't like it when people tell me truth about things I don't do correctly. I took some time to look at some of the other less satisfied customers reviews and the owners response has been the same every time, the people giving bad reviews are not worthy of your service. This is an interesting business model, telling unsatisfied customers that there experience is not valid and never admitting just maybe your staff gave them a bad experience.
I was also talking with another person that had visited your establishment about a month ago (not sand castle weekend). He had lived in the area years ago and loved your establishment so he wanted to treat his wife to your coffee on their vacation. He had placed an order for a couple drinks and left a tip, everything was fine. Then he decided to go back and order a bag of coffee to take to there vacation house. He chose not to leave a tip as he just had left a tip and wrote 0.00 for the tip as he does at ever place he goes when he does not leave a tip. The barista proceeded to attack him for writing zeros for the tip in front of the other customers.
If anybody looks at the other negative experiences at your shop this type of interaction over tips is common, and your response is the same. Your response to this issue has been "your bad experience is your fault and we would never do anything wrong so this is your problem, please go away" (I am summarizing).
In closing my family and I are very happy to go to any of the many other coffee shops in the area, and are excited to tell people about our experience at yours. I do understand that you are perfect and my experiences and that of others was of our doing because you are "perfect". So I fully expect you to just continue to tell me and others to go away as we are intellectual buffoons unworthy of your "superior"...
Read moreHonestly the coffee is just OK. You can't really taste much coffee since it's masked by caramel, chocolate and other sweet things. But overall not bad, not jittery and it wasn't as sweet as you would expect.
Now, why 1 star you say? Because the people who work there are RUDE af. We moved a couple of the outdoor chairs so that my group could sit together. As paying customers we didn't think this would be a huge issue and had every intention of putting things back afterwards. KAREN came out super upset telling us that we were disrespectful for moving "people's" furniture around. Went on talking about how "people's" chairs need to be on flat ground and not the "beautiful" grass that is uneven. There were a couple scooters parked on the "beautiful" grass and she immediately accused our group: "are these your scooters too?" To which a different group of paying customers responded that they were theirs. She went off with more passive aggressive comments about how the grass is just so beautiful to have scooters on it. She threw her hands up in a fit and went back inside the store. If you really don't want people moving chairs around, put up a sign or just ask nicely.
While we were waiting for our coffee, she leaned out of a window in the back to scold us about not waiting at the window for our coffees. "You need to stand and wait here. We are going to call your name and you need to be standing here." She was visibly shaking and face red and then further added to the aggression we had already received: "I just can't believe you guys would move those chairs. The grass is so beautiful and it just hurts my heart".
????
I know life can be hard, but it's much harder when you freak out over the little things. We moved those chairs at most a couple feet from their original spot. Like .... Calm down, take a deep breath and maybe get that heart pain checked out. I think its going to be OK. They are just chairs... Would hate to see you have a heart attack over some chairs and scooters.
(If you read most of the bad reviews here, you'll notice it's mostly calling out the rude service. Pay attention to the owners responses...
Read moreIf you are looking for some friendly service and also happen to be dairy free, Do Not visit this cafe!! You'll regret it. I am not much into writing online reviews as I am old school but this incident deserved to be heard. From what I witnessed while waiting in line the other day, they do not fully live up to alot of the 4/5* reviews they have. This woman had come back in with her coffee as it wasn't quite what she was hoping for and sounded like she was new to being dairy free, not by choice. The woman taking orders (who evidently turned out to be the owner) was quite snippy with her and even threw her money back at her because they did not want to bother remaking the drink to her liking. One of the baristas was belittling her asking why is there a problem again etc and she seemed so upset. I don't blame her, I was shocked to see this behavior happening right in front of me that I almost turned around and walked out myself. Cannot believe an owner would behave like that! When I got to the counter I asked what all that was about and owner lady was quick to dismiss the issue which really bothered me so I got the cheapest drip coffee I could get and got out of there quick.
Don't believe the hype. Looking through things this is not the 1st negative review on their "customer service' If the attitude isn't great, not much else...
