I’m not sure how this place has any good reviews. I wanted to leave the second I stepped in. I guess they’re going for a grunge look but the place was a mess and had appliances and extra chairs laying throughout it making it feel very stuffy and outdated. The bathroom was disgusting and looked like it had never been cleaned, but when your three year old has to go, they have to go. The coffee was terrible. I ordered an iced macchiato with almond milk. There was literally no ice in it because it had all melted from the espresso I’m guessing, but there is a technique where you can prevent the ice from melting and watering down your coffee. When I looked at my coffee I noticed curdled white pieces in it. I went back in to ask for something different and when I just asked for a new espresso the young girl tried charging me $3.50. I said “why do I have to pay for it when what you gave me was terrible and obviously bad milk quality? That doesn’t make sense” she replied with “okay” as she rolled her eyes. From the beginning she wasn’t very friendly and acted as if we were bothering her when we ordered. Also $14.50 for 3 drinks is absolutely ridiculous, especially when what we got was terrible. I’d prefer Starbucks 100 times over. Waste of time and money, we...
Read moreI wish I could give this more stars, but unfortunately 3 is the best I can give for today.
Pros - *Friendly, welcoming staff *Fun, eclectic vibe (they looked like they were setting up for some live music) *Connected to a music store
Cons - *Coffee honestly was terrible. I ordered an iced latte with almond milk. I don’t think it was actually espresso. It tasted like stale Folgers drip coffee, then the almond milk that was poured on top was frothed. Not sure if the “barista” steamed the milk and then poured it over ice? Either way the flavor was terrible and I ended up throwing it out. *I don’t think that they bake things in house. It did not seem like there was any space to actually do any proper baking. The brownie was fine, but...
Read moreOur initial experience with the coffee and staff at Durso's was great. But, our opinion changed drastically when we attended a play at the shop called "Backstage Broads," written by one of the owners.
It featured a character written as a sex-obsessed lesbian whose entire role was to inappropriately grope and harass other women. The writer also wrote a role for himself as a theater manager that the women's characters flirted with. The script was filled with demeaning comments about women, including jokes about sluts or dumb women. I felt so bad for the actresses.
We left early because we couldn't tolerate the content. While the coffee and service are good, we cannot support a business that profits off of...
