As a resident of The Garden State I was excited to see this place, but left disappointed and with a continued belief that most bagels outside of the Tri-state are garbage.
First off, the staff were friendly and pleasant, kudos to them.
I had planned on getting a bagel with cream cheese, but was surprised to see Taylor Ham on the menu. I thought to myself: "Jackpot, these guys must be from Jersey and know what's up"
I ordered a Taylor Ham Egg & Cheese on an Asiago cheese bagel, salt pepper ketchup.
First orange flag, they don't put salt, pepper and ketchup on the sandwich, but they did have some packets to do it myself. Fine, no worried
Next, and to my horror, they pull a pre-cooked egg, cheese, and few slices of Taylor Ham out of a Subway style ingredients tray, assemble it, place it on some parchment paper, and throw it in the microwave. It was at this point I knew I was doomed.
Then they toast the bagel (good bagels out of the oven don't need this) and I could have said something but eh whatever I don't mind that much.
When the microwave beeps and the bagel comes out of the toaster, they assemble the sandwhich and I begin to question my existence while eating this sad bagel.
TL;DR maybe this is good for California (if so I feel so bad for you guys), but if you're from Jersey or the tri-state in general stay away. This isn't what you are craving and it will just...
Read moreFood was alright. Sat outside and ate then came back in to use the restroom and was told in a nasty way NO they were closed. Pretty rude way to treat a patron. Won’t be returning. Too many friendly vendors as options. In response to the owners reply: That employee is lying to you. The door was wide open with nobody next to it. Nobody was waiting to lock it. In fact it looked like they purposely left it open to let the cool air in. We stood up when they said they wanted to bring the chairs in. Yes, we sat for an hour and stood outside another 10 minutes or so after requested to get up. When we were leaving I saw the door was still wide open and the two ladies were standing behind the register. The restroom was right next to the front door so I asked if I could use it quickly. The one that responded was extremely rude and I could tell the other gal was rather embarrassed over her behavior as she gave me a look like "sorry". If asking to use a restroom when the door is still wide open is considered entitled then I'll gladly own it. Isn't letting someone use the restroom just common human decency? Maybe you should be speaking with your employee about her entitled attitude rather than accuse me. A simple apology on behalf of your employee would have been more appropriate than defending her actions with lies and telling...
Read moreThis independent bagel shop is what those that are looking for responsible consumption should be looking for; locally owned and environmentally friendly, they employ locals and make the food on site. I had a breakfast bagel with egg, bacon, and cheese. It was well buttered and perfectly toasted. I availed myself some of the coffee which was from a carafe but still tasted fresh and was certainly hot. The coffee bar is well equipped and it is serve yourself. I like that because there is less chance of miscommunication and I know how I like my coffee. I would recommend this spot for a quick breakfast on the way to work, or if you are passing through. It’s less than a minute from highway 5, in the shopping center that had the 7-11 gas station. It is a sure winner in the...
