The Mini Donut Company — Restaurant in Carlsbad

Wasn't impressed with the donuts. I ordered the 2 dozen assorted flavor. The picture online shows a beautiful display of donuts. I was so excited to get donuts for the customers that come into my shop after seeing the assorted pic. I picked the donuts up and brought them to work. Turns out all the assorted donuts were plain and or sugared only (see picture). Kinda feel like I got ripped off. The donuts were not that great either. The dough was really spongie. I displayed the donuts for customers and they all said the same thing, "all plain"? Now all the customers know how plain the Mini Donut Company is. Super cute donuts with so many to choose from. We definitely overbought (72ct) for 4, but wanted to try it all, and because they were almost donut hole size (probably 2), we didn't want to leave hungry, and we were taking them on the go. Several cute eateries inside the windmill and handicap accessible. Would have loved to have my husband with us on this trip. Doing a little road trip up to Los Angeles and they are talking about doughnuts on the radio. This spot was the closest spot on the map so let's go! I'm not super familiar with North County so I didn't know there was a food hall in the windmill I see from the freeway. So fun. Anyways I stopped by Monday around 10 in the am so it was a ghost town.
