Well, I had a different experience than the reviewers that talked about fast service, so this review is my experience...The time we went was Monday, 8-10pm mid-March. First, there is a sign at the entrance saying something like See Hostess to be Seated....well there is nobody there...it was just a line of customers waiting. After standing in line for about 5 minutes and not seeing any staff, I asked the guy at the front of the "line" what the process was, and he said he didn't know for sure, but every so often a different staff person would come out and ask different groups of people how many in their party and if you answered with an acceptable number, you would be seated. It didn't matter the order you showed up, only if they could fill a table. I guess, me being the paying customer, I don't think that is fair. So, we waited for about an hour, while parties of 2 and even 7 were seated before us!! At this point a server came out and asked us how many in our party, we said 4. He then told us to stand by the railing at the front of the line...he even pointed to the spot he wanted us to stand. So, we are standing there for 15 minutes or so when another server brought the table that was in front of us their food. He then said rudely to us to move so that we weren't so close to that table while they ate. I told him that we were instructed to stand there by another waiter. He became very aggressive and even more rude to us. At that point I was ready to go some where else, but then we finally were seated. Another waiter came and took our drink order...about 10 minutes later he came and took our food/app order. The app (chips and salsa) came out about 10 minutes later, but the drinks took another 10 minutes after that...so we were basically done with the chips before we had our drinks. The food took about another 30 minutes. My girlfriend and I just shared a skirt steak and plantain dish...it wasn't good, but it wasn't bad either...just bland...nothing special. All of that waiting, dealing with a very rude waitstaff, and in the end the food was nothing special. I was still hungry, so I went across the street to Chilli's. I: 1.) was greeted right away; 2.) treated like I mattered; and, 3.) my food was ready in 10 minutes!! So, I guess you can chance going to Lupi's, maybe you'll have a better experience than I had, or you can just go to Chilli's, or there is another place down the street called Hijole which was...
Read moreThe only good thing I can say is that our server, David, was the best thing about the restaurant and the drinks. He tried so hard to make the night a pleasant experience for my nephew, especially because it was his 10th bday. We ordered my nephew's dessert and they didnt let David bring it out or put the candle on it or sing like he wanted to. We encouraged David to still sing for my nephew and it made my nephews day. The food sucked soooo bad!!! Not authentic Mexican at all!!!!! I was married to a Mexican man for 7 years and his Mother is old school, montañesa Chihuahuense. I know real Mexican food and have made real Mexican food. They even charged for salsa for the quesadillas. If you ask for extra salsa, the manager wants to charge you for chips and salsa!!!! The manager needs training on his hospitality and people skills. The taco salad was garbage. The only good thing about the quesadillas was the meat. Out of the 5 slices, I ate 2 only because I was hungry. The monfongo was DRY AS CAN BE!!! I am Puerto Rican. I know how to make monfongo. It was so dry that it crumbled. There was noooo sauce. Then they wanted to charge you for sauce. I argued over that and did not back down until they didnt charge me for the sauce. Then, the manage was seen by my family, yelling and cursing out the poor waiter out because he offered extra sauce. Just because we spoke English did not mean we didn't speak or understand Spanish. I would never...
Read moreThis was the first restaurant we ate at in Puerto Rico, it was a huge letdown. Took them 10 minutes to acknowledge us standing and waiting behind the little gate outside. Seated us and got our drinks we ordered sprite and teas she said sure not sure what she brought but it wasn’t sprite, iced tea tasted like Lipton with lemon powder tea. We waited an hour for our food during that time the waitress kept asking if we needed anything what else would I need besides my food and of course more nasty soda because we waited so long. Waitress said sorry we have a big party inside it should be up on 7-8min it was 15 and the food came out cold how does the big party cause my food to be cold but the plate piping hot and definitely isn’t authentic or fresh. It was canned Mexican food, terrible. They don’t give chips and salsa or offer anything while you wait. We requested enchilada sauce on the side they gave us canned tomatoes mixed with canned corn and charged us even though it wasn’t what we requested. I guess it’s the norm to wait longer times for food in Puerto Rico which I wouldn’t mind if it’s communicated upfront and the food is worth it, that was not the case. They offered free dessert I can’t imagine what that would be like or how long we’d have to wait. They took the nachos off the bill because my son couldn’t eat them so over 100$ later I would’ve been better off eating at Taco Bell. Don’t waste your time or...
