Last night was our first trip to Bj's and may be our last. I was given a great membership deal through my employer. We ended up buying 3 items and then proceeded to walk to the exit. My husband and son were walking ahead of me and reached the exit before I did. I had the receipt in my hand. I saw the couple before us stop with their cart and hand the greeter their receipt so when I reached the greeter I stopped but my husband had already walked past her. The greeter turned her head towards my husband and then she asked me if I was with him and I said yes. She said she's not used to people walking past her. She took my receipt and I called to my husband to come back. She tells him she has to count our items and my husband responded "really?" and she responded back "yes really" with an attitude. Remind you, the other couple was still standing there. It embarrassed and angered my husband the way she responded to us. Made him feel she was accusing him of stealing. After she counted our 3 items we started to leave and I could hear the greeter and the other couple talking about us. Hearing this I walked a few steps back and told the greeter and the couple "this was our first time here, so thank you!" and walked out. I did get a "wave" from the other customer and I couldn't make out how the greeter responded but it sounded like they then understood why he walked out without stopping. Was not the greatest 1st impression or experience. I think the greeter was disrespectful and lacked good customer service. When my husband questioned her she should've politely explained the company policy and not responded in the way she did. Nor should she have continued talking about us to the other couple as we were leaving. I wanted to call the manager and make a recommendation she have more customer service training but reading other reviews apparantly others have had bad experience with not receiving return calls so I wrote a...
Read more0 stars for membership customer service. I enjoy shopping at my local BJs wholesale club and get great service there but customer service for membership through the corporate office is terrible. I renewed two memberships at the beginning of December through a Fuel Your Fundraiser program that helps benefit our school. Neither renewal has taken effect now for two months and unfortunately the only avenue available to pursue resolution is through a phone call to a membership customer service rep. All three of the calls I made required a lengthy hold wait time; today was 47 minutes. On each call I gave the same information and received the same answer...that I would have resolution in 24 to 48 hours. One representative took both my home and cell phone numbers. I never got a call. Today they verified my email and said I would have an emailed response in 24 to 48 hours. I'm...
Read moreSo, last evening I called the tire center to make sure they had a set of tires that I wanted and found out they were closing before I could get there. I told the guy that I would be there in the morning. So, I arrive as planned after a 45 minute drive to get there, and the place is locked up tighter than a drum. So, I called the number for the store and nobody answers in the tire shop so an operator type person picks up and proceeds to tell me that the tire center will not be open today. Well thanks a lot! Why didn't the guy tell me that last night when I told him I would be there in the morning? Thanks for letting me drive an hour and a half for nothing today!
Add to the above the fact that most of their handicapped scooters are ALWAYS "Out of Order" this place sucks if you are...
