We had a very exciting dining experience last night at the Quinte Oyster Bar located in the newly opened Pinch Hotel at 36 George Street in Charleston. Upon entering this very small intimate space at 7:30pm we were overtaken with the high-volume hip vibe of very attractive people all of whom were happy and enjoying life to the fullest. We were immediately seated at a great table and introduced to Madeline our very capable server. She brought us a bottle of sparkling water and two Tito Martinis to get us started. She suggested of course oysters and so we sampled a variety of a dozen oysters very fresh and all very delicious. We then ordered the Shrimp Roll and the Steamed Trigger Fish with a bottle of Viognier wine. Sam the Manager was watching over us the whole evening making sure we were being well taken care of. Upon finishing our last glass of wine Brenda and I both agreed Quinte is an exciting dining experience providing all with a happy hour like exuberance which transforms even the most troubled soul to an upbeat optimist. We highly recommend the Quinte Oyster Bar for 5 stars over the top food, ambiance...

I had one night in Charleston and was picky about where to eat dinner. SO HAPPY I chose the Quinte Oyster Bar. It's such a cozy little place off King St, and, honestly, it's the best oysters I've ever had, and I've had a lot, up and down coasts all over the world. So fresh and tasty. The fish main course was delicious, I wouldn't change a thing. It was filling, savory and refreshing all at once while honoring the taste of the fish itself. The Panacotta dessert was the only one I had a bit of trouble with. It was delicious, but the yellow sauce on top tasted a bit too much like vinegar and I couldn't get past it. But it was super easy to move it to the side and really enjoy the panacotta itself with the delicious popcorn topping. The bar is very good, with a great bartender that really knows his stuff and can not only make cocktails, but suggests great wine pairings. I would 100% return here! Between two oysters, a cocktail, glass of wine, daily fish special and dessert, it was about $101 + taxes and tip. So not cheap, but worth the price if it's in...

10 years ago I thought a really nice dinner was Red lobster. Whoa! Now it takes alot to make me be taken by surprise. I am not hard to please but I am hard to be extremely impressed. For a couple of years now I have been following a guy we met as an oyster shucker. Now he is a Chef at The Quinte Oyster Bar. Jerome comes up with some of the greatest and beautiful plates I have ever seen! We were able to sample some of the upcoming menu and I was literally left speechless. Just look at these beautiful plates! And the Red Snapper made me stop breathing. After sampling almost 300 restaurants in the Charleston area, The Red Snapper is my favorite and I will be back for more. The Qwintie & Caviar is everything in an Caviar Service without any of the work! But believe me if you have to ask how much it is, you may not want this dessert. That is not just any Ole Caviar, that is Ossera Caviar. I promise you though the way it melts in your mouth, the sweet vs salty, worth every single penny! Please go check them out ♡ And let them know Miss...

One of the worst and strangest dining experiences I can recall. Here’s a list of what all went wrong: - Waited 40 minutes after the reservation to be seated - Waited an additional 20 minutes after being seated to place orders. - Received 4 shrimp for $18. Note that this is $4.50 per shrimp, which is more than the oysters. - Portions were incredibly small. - Food all came out at different times. The person with 4 shrimp was finished well before the last person got their food. - The food is all barely what the menu describes it as. - The “ham” is thinly sliced cheese placed on top of sparse pieces of what is clearly prosciutto. - The “yellowfin tuna” is actually some sort of salsa mixed with raw pieces of tuna and (I kid you not) about a dozen Lays potato chips in a ramekin. - It was so dark the servers kept missing the glasses when pouring water. Pros: - The decor is nice, I guess. - The oysters were good - The wine was very good (but also $16 a glass) - The server was nice All in all about $200 down the drain. We were all still hungry after.
