Last night will mark the day that I NEVER order from Big Al's. I was a very loyal customer dining with Big Al's at minimum once a week due to my travel schedule for work as a scout for the Charlotte Hornets. I appreciated the convenience of Big Al's delivery service and the venture outside of your delivered Chinese cuisine or Pizza to the door step.
Last night I placed a delivery order with Paige and Beth (the manager) over the telephone, I was ensured that the order would be out to my home in Mint Hill within a 45 to an hour window which is typical. I ordered the usual meal for my fiance and myself however 15min later I received a call from Beth the manager explaining that a particular item was out of stock and as a LOYAL CUSTOMER willing to reason and TRY a substitute item that THE MANAGER SUGGESTED.
I asked for a SINGLE CHICKEN BREAST in the event I dont like the substitute item I will have the CHICKEN BREAST (WITH NO SIDE ITEMS) as a manageable substitute. I am a former professional Basketball player at 6'8" 280lbs the chicken would not have filled me up on a side note but because of my loyalty to Big Al's I was willing to compromise as a customer.
My order came to $34. My frustration came when paige shared with me that there was a mandatory $4 dollar upcharge to add the chicken to my order after Big Al's took my money and did not have the item that I offered. Paige escalated the call the Beth who said to me "WE HAVE TO CHARGE YOU SOMETHING FOR THE CHICKEN ITS NOT MY FAULT THE LASAGNA WAS NOT ORDERED"
I felt extremely unappreciated after I shared with Beth and Paige that I order from the establishment at least once a week.
Beth began to negotiate with me stating " "HOW ABOUT WE SPLIT IT, I PAY 2 DOLLARS AND YOU PAY TWO DOLLARS"
It felt like a horrible customer service training video. My total order came to 34 dollars before Big Al's mistake! My response to splitting the two dollars was " Please refund my credit card 34 dollars"
Beth responded " DO YOU REALLY WANT TO CANCEL THE ENTIRE ORDER OVER TWO DOLLARS"
I responded "Yes please refunded my money and cancel the entire order"
Beth's response "it's just two dollars"
I stated "it is not about the two dollars, it's about MY VALUE TO TOU AS A LOYAL CUSTOMER. On average I spend 30 dollars a week... over a years time 52 weeks in a year would total about $1,700.00 per year that I spend with Big Al's and because of how I am being treated I will NEVER order from Big Al's again!"
Beth was silent for a moment as if there was something that I did that was wrong and the $4 woild come directly from her pay.
I did not think that I should have to fork over extra cash no matter how large or small the amount because their establishment did not fulfill their end of the business transaction.
Poor customer service, extremely poor business management due to lack of managerial accountability.
I will share my experience with my coworkers ,employees, friends and family to stay away from big Al's.

Read moreFirst let me say that the reason why this place is getting three stars is because I have been here and eaten here twice. The first time it was absolutely amazing. I had a black and blue burger and it was fresh juicy and delicious. Keep in mind that this was during the day. Now this place is also a pub like a little bar after hours and they still serve food. Now it was date night so I convinced my girlfriend to go there because of the experience that I had during the day with the food. When we got there, it was pretty lit and it was a lot of fun. We decided to order food because we were hungry. Of course, I again ordered the black and blue burger, and my girlfriend ordered the veggie burger. We were both utterly disgusted and disappointed. My burger looked like it had been forgotten about. The meat was so dry, the bread was so stale, it was missing the provolone or Swiss cheese and the blue cheese grumbles. The fries were no better. My girlfriend's bread was the same way and so were her fries. A friend of mine came to join us and ordered a drink and her drink was put on our tab and it should not have been. I'm not sure why it was but I am not happy about it. Other than that, it was a pretty decent night. I remember I was there a couple of weeks prior and had some wings and they were absolutely delicious. My suggestion, stick to the wings after about 8:00 p.m. PERIOD. If you want real food, make sure that you order or at least have it...
Read moreThis place needs a new cook plain and simple. 😡 I believe in giving places another chance and this was an ultimate fail!!!! The first time I went I was given RAW chicken wings and they were not crispy at all 😖. I called and they agreed to replace them. When I went back, I told them I wanted them crispy but not burnt. I got them home and of course, they were burnt. If you call yourself a wing restaurant, you have to be able to cook them. So tonight my cousin and I were hungry and she recently moved here. I told her about my experiences here but she decided she wanted to try it anyway. I told her I would go with her even though I really didn't want to😣. This time I tried a bbq bacon burger with onion rings and 5 vs my prior 20 wings. Needless to say I am on my way back for a refund. I was starving so I choked down my over well done burger (they didn't even ask how I wanted it cooked they decided) and my processed onions which happened to be the best thing on my plate aside from the celery I purchased. My wings were so disgustingly dry I once again could not force them down. And my cousins nachos...omg.....old, cold chicken, and stale cheese if cheese van even be stale😈. Normally the 3rd time is a charm but this time it was a reassurance that I will NEVER step foot in these...
