My husband and I have frequented this restaurant weekly or occasionally twice weekly since it opened. I have spoken personally with at least 3 of the owners to share in the joy of their new restaurant. I was even their very first catering customer, have purchased over $300 in gift cards to share with others and we have told everyone we know about how great it WAS. Emphasis on WAS. Recently, we have had two negative experiences. Normally, I would not go directly to social media; however I asked to speak with Alberto, one of the owners tonight and I was told he was “too busy cleaning to speak with me.” Wow...so this does seem to validate some of the reviews that management does not seem to care about any customer concerns. Even more apparent as I maintained eye contact with him when we departed the restaurant. This was surprising and disappointing to me since I know many restaurant owners and managers and the ones that want to stay in business understand that customer concerns are important to making their business better. So, the food, while still good, has become inconsistent, pizzas are too thick and come out clearly over cooked (even for Neopolitan style, which I love), the food runner is bitching about me to the cooks for sending it back, the owners do not seem to care what customers needs are and the kitchen closes early; meaning, they close the kitchen at 8:40pm and lock the doors at 9:00. This is applicable to take out as well. If a restaurant chooses this policy, it should be made clear to customers before they show up at 8:45 to be turned away for take out...on a 5 min pizza. So, we will be staying away for awhile and hoping for improvements. So disappointed because this was literally our favorite Italian since before...

Well to start the cashier was rude and short. She did not explain the food well. Rolled her eyes at my 9 year old when she asked a question. The food was fazolis fast food style Italian. I have no idea where the good ratings are from. I had the rigatoni and chicken. It lacked sauce, flavor and the chicken “cubes” were cold and chewy, as if prepared once daily and used for any chicken dish needed for the day. Almost like cubed canned chicken. It was supposed to come with garlic bread and olive oil dipping sauce. There was no dipping sauce and the “garlic bread “ was like a rip off of Indian Naan bread. It was flat, flavorless burnt dough with not a drop of seasoning much less garlic. My daughter had meatballs on rigatoni noodles. The meatballs looked great, buttt then you taste them. They had a very odd texture and flavor, even my 9 year old that tears through bagged meatballs in a slow cooker in store bought sauce, only ate the noodles. I normally don’t leave bad reviews, but when we travel we go based off reviews to try the local flavors. Do not be fooled by these reviews. The salad on another table looked great 😜 So- get the salad lol

EDIT- I’m unsure how to message you on google reviews. I left a similar review on my receipt that was emailed to me. I’m from SC, so there’s honestly no way to fix it as I come to Charolette once maybe twice a year. Unless you just refund my card. Which reading your very nice-nasty responses to other negative reviews, I doubt you would do that. Also apparently “Karla” was the one that checked us out and treated my child so rudely, even after...

I really hate to have to leave this place a bad review because the food has always been very good. The management was my issue. I’m a regular at Capishe so I know the menu well. Last night I ordered Togo food after a long day on the boat. When I arrived home I discovered they had given me the wrong pizza. I ordered the prosciutto pizza and was given their spicy pepper pizza. When I called the girl on the phone told me I had to come back in to get the correct pizza. I was exhausted and was not leaving my house again. I just asked for a refund because I do not eat spicy food and the pizza I was given was very spicy hot. I was then told I could have a refund but I would have to call back in 30 mins to speak to a manger. I shouldn’t have had to call back, but I did. The manager on duty at 7:30pm on 9/6/20 would not give me his name. He proceeded to tell me I was a liar and that no one told me I could have a refund. He then hung up on me. I thought maybe we were disconnected. I called back and the same lady answered. I asked for the manager, he then told her hang up the phone on them. I was shocked! Due to the way this was handled I will NEVER give this place my business again. I will be emailing the restaurant and I plan to get in touch with the owner. Beware if you get togo... check your order before you leave!*UPDATE... a few hours after leaving this re view I was contacted by Anna, another manager. She was very apologetic about what happened and promptly...

I've been excited to try this place since I read about it in Charlotte Agenda and all of the great reviews only made me more excited to try it. Their $15 salad, pasta/pizza, and gelato/cannoli restaurant week deal was the perfect excuse to try it. We went around 7:30 on a Friday night and there was a short line. It's fast casual, so we placed our order pretty fast, found a seat, and they brought our food out to us. Our food came out very quickly. They also clean up your dishes for you which is unusual for fast casual. After talking to the cashier taking our order, we got two side salads, the San Lorenzo pizza (10"), the rigatoni with chicken, hazelnut gelato, and caramel gelato. Everything was delicious. The side salads were way better than your typical side salad. I couldn't pick which I liked better between the pizza and pasta. The pizza was Italian style and honestly one of the best in Charlotte. The pasta was well cooked with a delicious sauce. We both liked the caramel gelato more, but hazelnut was very good. You can't find better pizza or pasta for the price. All pizzas and pasta are $10 which is a steal. Great food. Great service. Great price. This is definitely a must try restaurant!

I must admit that my expectations for this restaurant were sky-high. I had seen incredible reviews and wonderful photos (especially of the pizzas), but I was super disappointed . Let's start with the positives: a very pretty place, interesting decor, and beautiful pastries in the window that make your mouth water just by looking at them. Now for the points of concern: the furniture is very worn out, with torn sofas, scratched and dirty tables. It's a very large space but clearly underused. We ordered a spicy Calabria pizza and prosciutto. The prosciutto pizza tasted ok, but I must admit that the prosciutto didn't seem to be of good quality and looked like lean ham. The spicy Calabria pizza was impossible to eat. We like peppers, but the level of it is so strong that you lose your taste buds. Each of us could only eat one piece and we left the whole pizza on the table. Unfortunately, there really was no way we could keep eating. The price is good, but I don't think I would go back because it didn't surprise us.
