I am writing to express my profound disappointment following a recent, highly disheartening experience at one of your Snooze locations. As an ardent patron who has frequented Snooze establishments across the country, this incident stands out as an exceptionally egregious deviation from the typically high standards I have come to expect.
Upon arrival on 6/29/2024 (at 8:32 AM check number 28/table 54) , to the South Park location, located in Charlotte NC. I was promptly greeted and seated, which was commendable. I ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon. However, upon receiving my meal and beginning to eat, I discovered a complete absence of bacon in the burrito. I courteously called the waiter and asked her to inspect the burrito, which she confirmed lacked bacon. She apologized and kindly offered to remake it.
When the second burrito arrived, I opened it in the presence of the waiter, and again, there was no bacon. The waiter apologized once more and went to consult the manager. I observed as she attempted to explain the situation, only to be dismissively interrupted by the manager, who brusquely stated, he “I got it,” without allowing her to fully communicate the issue.
The manager then approached my table, immediately asserting that he had opened the burrito and found bacon inside, further stating that the burrito contains only two ounces of bacon. He remarked that he remembered me, which was both irrelevant and inappropriate, indicating a prejudiced stance from the outset. His dismissive attitude towards his staff and myself was apparent and utterly unprofessional.
In light of his approach, I requested the check for the meal my colleague had eaten. The manager insisted on remaking the burrito and offering the bacon on the side, despite my clear indication that I no longer wished to dine at Snooze. He persisted, stating the burrito would be made and comped for takeaway, a gesture I had already declined.
The manager’s demeanor throughout the interaction was condescending and offensive. I reminded him that as a paying customer, I expect service commensurate with the standards I am paying for, executed correctly. I am neither an employee nor interested in the internal logistics of your operations. Furthermore, his passive-aggressive behavior was unacceptable, especially as he referenced a previous incident where I suffered a chipped tooth and cut lip due to subpar food quality and a chipped water glass. Despite that ordeal, I continued to patronize Snooze, demonstrating my loyalty.
However, I will not tolerate being treated as an inconvenience when I am a paying customer who has frequented Snooze over 100 times, with only a few negative experiences. The insinuation that the manager “knows” me was inappropriate and irrelevant.
In conclusion, my experience was deeply unsatisfactory due to the manager’s unprofessional behavior, dismissiveness, and failure to address the issue appropriately. I expect a formal response and rectification of this matter to restore my confidence in the...

I was so turned off that I just wanted to leave as fast as possible, and if I didn't hate confrontation I probably would've asked to speak to a manager. I went to Snooze last Tuesday 1/28. I was trying to celebrate my 1-year anniversary of moving to Charlotte by spending time in one of my favorite areas (SouthPark) and having a nice drinks-filled brunch. The brunch was not good, the drinks did not hit, and the service was even worse. There are so many great brunch restaurants in Charlotte--do not come here.
Ambience. The interior looks like a badly-decorated diner tbh (and diners can be really cute), with colors that don't quite match. There weren't many customers when I arrived, and then a host and I think 2 servers. I stood awkwardly for a few minutes and then the host greeted me and showed me to a small table against the window.
When my server arrived, she immediately had a frown, looked bothered, and had a slight attitude; but I met her with a smile and nice energy hoping it would change her mood... it didn't. I ordered a Palomimosa (replaced with boozy Blackberry limeade which was strong but didn't give me a buzz), the OMG french toast, and habanero pork belly. Took one sip of the drink and it was AWFUL, never took another. French toast was good, but presentation wasn't great and didn't have as much on the plate as it did online. Pork belly tasted like a dry rub was on it but had no flavor otherwise. Who's ever heard of unflavored pork belly??
Don't know if it was the grapefruit or the sparkling wine, but the mimosa was bad. I then proceeded to try to get my server's attention for AT LEAST 20 minutes. She went to so many tables, she went to tables right next to me, but avoided my glance at all cost. I observed her, trying to figure out what was going on and give her the benefit of the doubt. She dropped off some plates, she took some orders, she dropped off some drinks--all understandable. But she would not come to me or look at me, even though it was clear that I was unsatisfied and attempted to call her over, and I couldn't understand why. Then she came to the table ADJACENT to mine, with two white people seated at it, and asked endearingly, "Is everything okay so far?"
And it finally dawned on me--she was rude and disrespectful to me (a visibly Black woman), and polite and hospitable to the white people near me (and she presumably was a white woman). Whether she is aware of her racism or it is unconscious, I don't know; but I do know that I will NEVER visit another Snooze nor will I take my friends/family here. And I spent $30 on food that wasn't great and because I had to get a more...
Read moreOverall a pretty bad experience, won't be going again or recommending it to friends. I truly don't understand half of the reviews. It's a worse copycat of First Watch.
I showed up when the waitlist told me to and had to wait an extra 15 minutes while the hostess just glared at everybody and was vocally complaining about a no-show. Not only is there no waiting room seating, there is no waiting room at all. If you don't want to wait in the sweltering heat you have to crowd in front of the doors when you walk in.
I got pineapple upside down pancakes with a side of link sausage. I was expecting a sweeter and lighter pancake with pineapple on the bottom, but what I got instead was a heavy pancake soaking in a pool of condensed milk with incredibly small pieces of minced pineapple. I compared my pineapple pieces to the size of the tomatos in my wife's pico de gallo and the diced tomatos in her pico de gallo were like 3 times bigger than my pineapple chunks. It was like 20 tiny pieces, and unfortunately were the only thing on my pancake plate with any flavor at all. 3/4 people at my table were dissatisfied with their meal.
My sausage was completely dried out and tasted like nothing except an overwhelming flavor of black pepper. It tasted like they seasoned the sausage with only ground black pepper, and way too much. Also, I'm not even sure how you get sausage that dry. They must have been using the leanest cut of meat they can get.
The atmosphere is the very typical modern hip breakfast place style, pretty much the same as First Watch, except with an offensively bright color palate. It shares the same issues that First Watch does with noise. Do to the open floor plan, me and my party had to practically yell across the table to hear each other. There are no physical menus, you have to scan a QR code to view it on their website, which is incredibly clunky to use because every single menu item has it's own page with a Tolkien sized backstory. And if you want to go back to view another item? Sorry, it's gonna take you all the way back to the top of the page and you have to scroll all over again. Oh and there is no price listed on their online menu, as far as I could find.
The prices were the craziest part. Our bill came out to ~$80, which I typically wouldn't mind at all, except I could have gotten better service and food if I had just gone across the street to Original Pancake House and I would have paid half of that price.
But hey, at least they have a bar!!! (too bad I don't drink)
Sorry for the long review, but until this restaurant can improve both it's service and food this review is staying up. $8 quality food and experience for $20...
