Fuji Hibachi and Teriyaki Grill — Restaurant in Charlotte

Ordered their hibachi steak, chicken, and shrimp and it was the most bland, tasteless food I’ve had in years. I don’t think they use ANY spices in their dishes. It was honestly like they threw the meat in a pan and cooked it with not even salt or pepper. Most of the vegetables consisted of a huge spoonful of cooked carrots. The zucchini and mushrooms that were in there were so overly cooked that they got mushy. Oh, and they left the tails on the shrimp and the “sauce” they gave me for dipping was simply catsup and mayonnaise. What a waste of money. I wish I had read the reviews here before I ate there, as I see everyone else complaining about the same thing. I’m shocked that in this day of social media, that they don’t read these reviews and do something about their bland, flavorless food. I will never eat here again. Most disappointing meal in years. This was my second time eating here, and unfortunately, both visits left me disappointed because of the same young lady at the register Simon or Michelle. Today, after ordering, she brought my food to the table. When I asked for a spoon or fork, she simply pointed and said, right there,” leaving me to get my own utensils. I found it surprising that she could bring the food but not the utensils.

When I asked about it, her response was, “This is a fast food.” That reply came across as dismissive and unprofessional. Good customer service is about making guests feel welcome, and something as simple as providing utensils with the meal should be standard.

Not understanding the bad reviews. This is our go to for hibachi to go. There are reviews saying the carrots are too sweet.. but I think they are AMAZING. And ive had them cooked this way at a few hibachi places, so im not understanding the issue? In fact I like them better than a lot of the sweet carrots I've had. I do get that the reviews that state they didn't like only mushrooms are included. But if you read the menu.. it says that.. and then you can add. I always add zuchinni and onion. Also their fuji sauce is really yummy! And it doesn't cost a fortune like some other places.
