IRO SouthPark — Restaurant in Charlotte

Tried this place for the first time tonight for their Turn Up Thursdays events. Very beautiful ambience and the drink was delish, but it was advertised as a jazz type event, or at least sultry vibes. But get there and it’s a totally different band than expected. They were not bad, but they are more suitable for a brewery than a nice bar/lounge where folks want to unwind with a nice cocktail and smooth tunes after work. I was there maybe 45min and I saw so many come in dressed to the 9s for I assume what they thought would be a nice jazz night. They immediately turned around and left, not even sticking around for a cocktail. The only reason why I deducted one star is because the vibe was totally off for the band selected for this atmosphere. Don’t get me wrong I will definitely be back, but I’m hoping since they are still pretty new, that they will “read the room” and get the right music for the right vibes of this hotel. My first experience dining here and it will be my last. I sat at the bar and the waitress stood around on her phone and had an attitude taking my order. After taking my order she went to the kitchen and another person sitting at the bar told me he’d never eat here again either because his entire stay in the hotel he’s had terrible service with this same bartender. She sat in the window sill while I waited on my food and when my food came out it was cold after waiting 25 minutes on a traditional breakfast. Terrible service. Terrible food. Would give less than 1 star if I could. If she’s the face of the restaurant I’d invest in a new one before she ruins anymore...

Great service from a friendly staff. Gave the food one less star since the portions sizes were inconsistent during the four days I stay here...see pics below. Gave the atmosphere 3 stars since there where too many whiny ass kids while I was there. The last two days I sat at the bar and ate and could still hear kids whining. As for the portion sizes, the first day I ordered oatmeal and yogurt bowls and they came out small as seen in the pics below but on another day I ordered the yogurt bowl and it was in a bigger bowl with much more fruit and I only remember seeing one size on the menu so not...
