Read moreWe had a terrible experience at this place. The waiter was completely aloof. We were a party of 9 and he suggested we order appetizers. There is not a section in the menu called appetizers, so we asked him what he would recommend, he started reading dish by dish and sides, to then said: pretty much you can order anything as an appetizer.
The menu was confusing and we had to Google lots of items to find out more about the ingredients. We decided to order the charcuterie board and onion rings to have as an appetizer . We didn't see the waiter for at least half an hour, not once he asked if we wanted water. The charcuterie board arrived with lots of burnt toast. The onion rings didn't arrive.
When they brought our food they had wrong lots of the dinner plates, they swapped some main meals for Mac and cheese, one of our salmons was missing, and oh surprise the "appetizer" onion rings arrived while we were already eating the main curse. We asked one of the waiters for the salmon and other side items, he said they could start making them. We had been there for over 40 minutes. We decided to cancel the order. We had to share our food with our friends that didn't get their food.
The waiter didn't come back until the end to check how we were going to pay. We had to constantly call him to order drinks, otherwise he would have come. There was no more customers in the first floor besides us, yet he didn't mind to offer good service.
Terrible service, ok food but not good enough for the price paid. Nine of us weren't happy with this place. We will not be back and I do not recommend it. I give 2 stars because my peach...
Read moreThere were four of us eating together. We were in town for a conference.
One ordered the chicken, another the salmon, one ordered the fried chicken skins, and I ordered the braised beef. Three of us loved our dishes. The braised beef was so tender that no knife was needed to cut it. It just fell apart with a fork. Tasted amazing too. But my friend who got the fried chicken skins was thoroughly disappointed, enough so that she sent it back and got the BBQ chicken instead.
We also got the pimento cheese and pickled veggies for appetizers. Both were very good. Pimento cheese was stellar.
For sides, we got brussel sprouts (excellent), garden peas (meh, no better than frozen peas from the store), golden rice (good), mac and cheese (fine), and the sweet potatoes.
Oh boy. The sweet potatoes were terrible! The first person to try them ate one slice then carefully pushed the other slices to the side of her plate. She was too polite to say anything. I tried them next. Gross. They tasted like they had "turned", as in they had been left out for a few weeks and had started to become rotten. They were neither sweet nor potato-y. There were bitter and rotten. We all tried them and all felt the same way. They were really, really bad. We're not sure if we got a bad batch or if someone actually thinks they taste good, but stay far away from them. We were genuinely worried we were going to get food poisoning from trying them, that's how bad they were.
Service was good. Ambiance was fine. Some strange decorations, but okay. Pretty pricey. Not sure I would go back. Maybe if someone else was paying. But definitely no...
