An awful place if you ask me. Expensive, rude and a scam. I was looking for a place to dance salsa and bachata in South Carolina while visiting for a conference. I found this place in google and decided to checkk it out on friday. It says it closes at 2:00 am, but the first surprise is that at midnight they would not let anyone in anymore, so I had to wait for the next day. On Saturday I went and the first surprise was that the cover charge is 10 USD instead of the no-cover or 5 USD cover most clubs in the area have. I imagined the place would be great if they charged a 10 USD cover charge. Well, it wasnt. The music was DJ (I have been to live music places that charge that cover) and quite standard. The drinks were more expensive than elsewhere in the surroundings. The staff is not nice and the place looks are very cheap. They had two or three private parties and that is it. Then the worst part came. I decided to go out and check other places, but wanted a stamp or something in case I wanted to return. I asked for that and I was told by the lady asking for the 10 USD, that it was the place´s policy that every time you went out and came back you had to pay 10 USD!!!! Is that even legal??? I had a much better time in a nearby club that had a...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a fun and respectful environment in Charlotte, Tequila House is NOT the place for you. I had a horrible experience there, and I want to warn others before they make the same mistake.
The security staff at this club is completely unprofessional and aggressive. I was physically assaulted by a bouncer for absolutely no reason—just because I was talking to a girl! Apparently, he was interested in her and decided to take it out on me. Instead of ensuring customer safety, they abuse their power and treat guests with disrespect.
The management is no better. The manager has no control over his staff, allowing them to act however they want without consequences. Rather than providing a welcoming atmosphere, they let their employees mistreat customers without reason.
On top of that, the club seems to have a serious problem with discrimination. They don’t treat everyone equally, and their behavior towards certain customers is unacceptable. No one should have to worry about getting harassed or physically attacked just for enjoying...
Read moreI want to like tequila house. Really, the location is great being in the center of uptown. However, comparing to clubs with a$20 entry in other cities, it needs work.
The bartender staff is great, never had a problem and they'll mix about whatever you ask. The bouncers are nice guys but I don't get the setup. Having the door guy pat you down, then to have a second guy upstairs pat you down again is bit ridiculous.
The venue itself feels smaller/fractured because of the former office style layout. Roxberry/Mission have the better layouts, hands down.
Sounds, wise you come expect the exact same mix and track choice everything no matter who's on set. With a mix of Latin, Hip Hop and EDM Pop. It's like listening to whatever on the late night radio stations. Bring in more talent whom produce/edit their own tracks would help. No reason why you can't competition with the Underground/Filmore for the EDM scene.
But hey people love it in Charlotte, but if you've experienced better you'll feel...
