My husband wanted to try a new place and Bellows Bistro is what he picked. We went there several weeks ago and it appears they've already had a menu overhaul as the main dish he ordered is no longer on the menu. We also got the Baulders Fries, the Tavern Salad and two pops. I enjoyed the fries but my husband did not care for the sauce on the top of the fries. The salad tasted good but was VERY small for the price ($10.99). It was was more side salad sized than entree sized and came in a weird metal bowl. They also wanted $5 extra to add chicken which I declined. The pop is only $2 with free refills but the metal cups are very small. The server didn't check back regularly enough to keep them filled with pop. The menu is small and seems to focus more on coffees and Boba teas and the food seems to be more of an afterthought.
While we were dining, we could hear the kitchen staff talking negatively about our food order which was off-putting. The server also seemed untrained - every interaction was awkward. At the end of our meal, the server brought a handheld card reader to the table and asked us to pay and enter a tip while he stood there, which felt uncomfortable and a bit pushy (much like the coffee shop drive-thrus). Very awkward and definitely a first at a sit down restaurant. The decor is fun and whimsical but you can tell that most was a DIY and doesn't look finished (especially...
Read moreMy mom and I (Gen X and Gen Z) ate here together and we were both very satisfied with the food and service! We shared the Highlord's burger with chips and a piece of chocolate cake. The burger was delicious. The chips had a unique seasoning that tasted like a mix of black pepper and BBQ sauce, that was quite delicious without being overpowering. The chocolate cake slice was fresh and moist. The frosting was sweet and simple. We arrived around 11:30 am on a Tuesday and were the only ones there. Our server was very kind and explained the medieval tavern-themed food choices and various special drinks. Everything is made in-house, including the chips. They don't serve your typical basic cheeseburger. The patties are handmade and unique sauces add a flavorful spin to the meal. We both ordered drinks. My mom got a Dark Elf latte (caramel, chocolate, and vanilla). In her words, "Very good". I branched out and tried a Sunfyre Tea, which is a pineapple fruit tea with rose and chili pepper(!) boba. I was surprised that the spice from the pepper boba paired well with the sweet drink. Our favorite feature by far was the board games available to play at each table. We had a blast playing together and will definitely be...
Read moreI stopped in for lunch to give this place a try. I walked in and sat down at the bar. There were two others at the bar and two tables occupied, so it wasn't very busy. There were two workers at the bar and neither greeted me. Nobody ever asked if I wanted something to drink. After 10 minutes, I waved one of them over and explained I had been sitting for a while and would like a drink. They apologized, took my drink order, and proceeded to do anything but pour my drink. After another few minutes, I finally got my drink. I can understand if it was busy and other customers were being helped, but they were prioritizing non-customer related tasks over me.
I got a fried chicken sandwich, which was very good.
I like what they are going for with the decor, but it feels a bit odd. Kudos to them for trying something unique.
The food was good and I'd like to try other menu items, so I will give it another try. Hopefully the service is much improved next time. I will update my...
