If the Great Gatsby opened a bar in 2025, it would be Broads.
From the moment you step inside, you’re transported into an art deco dream—equal parts sultry and sophisticated. Arlene, the bartender and tattooed enchantress behind the bar, welcomes you with a smirk and a perfectly balanced cocktail… expertly poured from the now-iconic wall-mounted bosoms. Yes, you read that right. Functional and fabulous.
The drinks? Impeccable. Thoughtfully crafted, smooth, and dangerously easy to fall in love with—the kind of cocktails that make you forget your ex’s name and consider buying a velvet robe.
The service is just as impressive. Although the server Ollie is short, she is mighty—armed with quick wit, gold-standard service, and the kind of charm that makes you tip more than planned. Cassidy, though quieter in demeanor, is equally notable: attentive, patient, and graceful under pressure—a silent force of hospitality excellence.
The appetizers won’t win culinary awards, but they hold their own—satisfying enough to keep you going between cocktails and conversation.
And the vibe? Unapologetically queer, inclusive, and welcoming. Broads is proudly very gay, with a warm, affirming energy that wraps around you like a faux fur coat at a drag brunch. LGBTQ+ folks aren’t just welcome—they’re clearly celebrated here.
Even the bathrooms are on brand: beautifully styled and oddly inspiring. It’s the only place you’ll contemplate your dreams and your drink order at the same time.
Broads isn’t just a bar—it’s a whole experience. You don’t leave satisfied. You leave enchanted… and already texting your friends to meet you there...
Read moreHad the honor and privilege of attending the first comedy show tonight at Broads. Before the show even began, I entered into one of the best laid out bars I have ever seen. The colors, the energy, and the experience were shocking in the best way. A tribute to the old world bars of yesteryear with an energetic and tasteful praise for the modern zeitgeist became apparent seconds after the door closed and I was engulfed into a living aesthetic. Not only was the staff accommodating, the menu was inspired and drinks made with care. Facilities were clean, seating was abundant, and I was made to feel as though I belonged. Beverages and food were outstanding and delivered at a five star level. As a fan of local comedy and an ally of home grown business, I found myself charmed and delighted. Host Ivy Weatherford not only welcomed our presence but captained a seamless journey into a hilarious night of female lead comedy with performers at a tier one would expect in much larger markets. I cannot recommend a visit to this establishment enough. And I feel strongly that anyone who visits will agree that Broads will quickly and inarguably become the standard for all bars in downtown Chattanooga to aspire. I look forward to visiting again very...
Read moreSuper fun place to have a very fun cocktail and even a nice meal.
The food menu is small but everything is made very well I was actually very impressed with the vegan french dip. I don't think I've said that ever in my life haha.
My personal favorite cocktail is the Sasha fierce. I keep coming back for more I've been making myself try other cocktails on the menu just so I'm not biased.
Has a super friendly staff that's very knowledgeable and I'm really fun bar that has lots of pro women made companies and distillers.
Tuesdays have become my favorite because it is a jazz night and like a lot of places in Chattanooga the music can be too loud. However hear the music is at a great level and you can continue to have conversations with...
