Went here for a brief lunch with a friend, and it was a delight! A tad crowded for the space, but they are working on adding an upstairs portion for more indoor dining. $10-$12 per person for a bite to eat (sandwich, no sides included), and drinks besides water are extra. The sandwich I got (Stecca #3) was satisfying for lunch without being too much to eat, and it was enough for someone who had skipped breakfast! Delightfully composed with light, airy, stecca bread, good turkey, and a lightly tart/citric aioli underneath to highlight some umami flavors and offset the richness of the sandwich. Paired with a limeade soda, it was quite refreshing for a hot summer day, not too heavy. Service was quick, within 5 minutes or so. The only improvement would be space, as it does get crowded quickly inside with only 5-7 people, but they're working on that with developing extra space upstairs (up a literal spiral staircase).

How does one fully describe just how good Hungry Mother is? I'm going to try, first off you can tell as soon as you walk in just how much attention to detail and care is put into every aspect. The owners and staff are always so welcoming and take their time describing new specials. Don't know if I can say "specials" because everything is SPECIAL!! You really can't go wrong with anything! And I don't know how they do it but their coffees are so unique and flavorful. It takes incredible talent to pack so much flavor into a cappuccino or latte without making it overly sweet but they do it!! Very flavor forward without the crazy sweetness like other shops. AND the cortado and cappuccino cups are made by a local potter, AWESOME! So do yourself a favor and stop here for breakfast or lunch to experience the magic.

Love this place. I was hesitant to go at first, seeing as I thought nothing could beat BA and its legacy in this building. But I was wrong - it's the perfect complement to the space!

*Menu is creative and delicious; service is FAST; and Kitchen is highly skilled (They have the Alleia legend Joe working there as of now!).

*Owners and staff are sweet, eager to get to know the customers, and seem excited to curate an excellent experience every time.

*Good layout to maximize space; It's a small spot but I've always been able to find a table quickly.

*You will be served your beverages out of GLASS or CERAMIC mugs - and water is also served in glasses. Plastic or paper to-go containers are only given to you if you're actually taking it to go. An increasingly rare practice around here.

*and BEST of all is that they've strategically engineered the layout to have no accessible outlets; so no fear of keyboard warriors on Teams meetings loitering about.

We need more cafes like this one. Keep up the...
