Visited for a noonish lunch in between aquarium exhibits (it's approx a 5 min walk) on the 28th of December. Yes, a Thursday right after a major holiday whilst the streets were absolutely crawling with folks and families. Even with steady traffic within the self seating- order at the counter & we'll bring it out to your table style restaurant, we placed our order within 15 minutes, our app was before a total of 30, pizzas within 15 following. Though it's not a large establishment, we didn't have any issues figuring out seating for our family of 11. There are a few arcade games for the youths to keep them occupied and entertained when dining in. The menu is Italian, with pastas, salads and pies made to order. A variety that will certainly appeal to most. We order cheese bread appetizers -While the portions were generous, the bread was baked to crisp perfection and the cheese ratio lovely, there was a distinct overwhelming flavor i can't pinpoint. We also ordered 3 pies, all great, toppings were generous and the crusts were cooked perfectly. I highly recommend getting chicken, pineapple and jalapeños as it was exceptionally complimentary due to their execution of their shredded chicken preparation.
It is a noisy place, with a great atmosphere and pleasant staff. There isn't immediate street parking but there are plenty of close by options available to choose from and it's directly on a bus route. Overall great place for families or just a fun bite while out...
Read moreI recently dined at a local pizza place called Lupi’s, and unfortunately, I must say that I was disappointed by the experience. While the restaurant was located in a bustling downtown area and had a fun design, the food fell short of my expectations.
Firstly, the prices were quite high, with most menu items costing significantly more than comparable offerings at other pizza places. For a 12 in pizza with four toppings and one beer, we spent about $40. I ordered a custom sausage pizza, and while the crust was crispy and the cheese was fresh, the sauce was bland and lacked any real flavor. The toppings such as the sausage seemed very generic - not made in house - which made the food less than memorable.
Overall, while Lupi’s may have a convenient location and fun décor, the high prices and mediocre food make it difficult to justify returning. The pizza lacked any unique flavor which detracted from the overall dining experience. If value for money is important to you, I would recommend looking elsewhere for another...
Read moreLocation was easy to walk to from my hotel, but being from out of town I can speak to what parking is like on a typical day on the streets of downtown Chattanooga.
Inside is decorated very fun, like your typical kitschy family-friendly pizza joint. It’s a walk up and order counter where you get a number and seat yourself.
Prices were good and I liked that you could order a slice.
Service was great, everyone was very very friendly and helpful as we had a couple of questions.
The pizza itself honestly wasn’t my favorite, but since that’s a personal preference I can’t take too much off. It was just a little sweeter than I like in terms of both sauce and crust, but the texture of the crust was perfect in my opinion. I also got a side salad which actually was a little overpriced for what it was, and I wouldn’t order it again. My mom ordered the calzone and seemed to really like it!
Overall I would try it again if I were in Chattanooga, and definitely recommend it as a pretty affordable meal...
