Hectic, but hey, it’s downtown Chicago and summer so, lots of people. After waiting for about 5 minutes, a woman -a wee bit aggressively- asked everyone waiting to go outside, so that was uncomfortable and there wasn’t much shade at this time. I ordered the shaken iced espresso which was $5.99. When I got my drink, it was half full. I asked the barista if that was correct and was told yes- only one shot and just 12oz so the “flavors work better.” I remarked at the cost and they responded “I don’t make the prices” which leads me to believe others probably ask too. When I order coffee, it’s because I need coffee. Had I know the volume was half of a regular iced latte I would have just ordered that because the only difference was the addition of vanilla. It was meh. The cup feels smaller than 16oz. And regardless this was less than 12oz. Lesson learned and there are lots of other spots to get coffee and breakfast in this area. Good spot if you want cool vibes as a tourist, not the best tasting or priced for a daily...
Read moreFirst off, look no further if you're seeking a laid back and friendly, stylish diner to hang outside and share breakfast with your pup! Secondly the people who work here are some of THE FRIENDLIEST STAFF I've ever encountered in the Gold Coast/Rivernorth area. I went here last week to share scrambled eggs 🥚 and a bagel 🥯 schmear with my pup. Today I ordered Vietnamese iced coffee ☕ extra sweet (the way I like it) a vegan chocolate muffin and shared crispy bacon 🥓 and scrambled eggs 🥚 with my pup 🐶 This cafe is dog friendly; all the neighborhood canines come here to enjoy people watching with their humans. I really love the vibes here because it's not stuffy and the customers who tend to come here are just looking to relax outside since technically we're still having summer weather. I highly suggest you visit on a Sunday, enjoy a table outside with your favorite pooch and order their specialty drinks and breakfast while the...
Read moreI went here for the first time today and don’t think I’ll be back. While I loved the ambience, I thought the food/drinks were not up-to-par. However service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the peppermint mocha with almond milk hot, which was good but not served as hot as I thought it would be (more like lukewarm). Also, the chocolate chip cookie I got tasted stale. When I got home I ended up reheating the drink and cookie in the microwave until they were hot enough. Maybe it’s just me, but for the price of a lukewarm latte and cookie, I’d rather go elsewhere. I’m glad I stopped here because I’d been wanting to try it out. Maybe if I’d gone earlier in the day the cookie would have been more fresh. I’d recommend this place if you are in a pinch for coffee because it’s right off the L (Chicago station). Granted, I did order my food and drink to go so I wonder if it would have been different...
