I was in the area, hungry for something to eat, so I fired up my map app to find something suitable. Jaimito's was one of the places nearest me, so I decided to order from them through Postmates. My review will only cover the food, and not the confusing wait times I was given. More on that later, though.
I ordered a couple of tacos, one al pastor, the other steak, plus a small horchata to drink. The tacos were of a typical size, but had a generous amount of meat and veggies on each. The steak was a bit bland, but alright. The al pastor, on the other hand, was tastier and more flavorful. Included were small cups of a red and a green salsa, and each had good flavor, and a good amount of heat/spiciness. The horchata, unfortunately, was much too sweet, and tasted like the water you get from a soda dispenser.
The wait time when I ordered was originally eleven minutes, which was fine, though I was pressed for time. Then, it changed to fifteen minutes once my order was completed. Several few minutes after that, I received a text update saying it would be an additional twelve minutes on top of the original fifteen. In other words, my eleven minutes wait was now a full half hour. I don't know whose fault that was, whether it was Postmates, Jaimito's, or Google, but the restaurant was absolutely dead inside, so I don't know why the wait time for my order was so much longer.
Overall, the food was average, and the drink wasn't good at all. I'd consider going back to eat here, maybe...but definitely would avoid...
Read moreWalked into this place around midnight today 7-19-2025. I placed an order for a large chicken burrito with chips and salsa verde. Guy rings me up for $18 and some change. When the food is done, the guy calls me up to give me pre bagged chips and a cup of salsa rojo. I asked him for a cup of salsa verde and he tells me we don’t do that, I asked him why he failed to mention that when I specifically ordered chips and salsa with salsa verde before I paid and he didn’t have an answer. I was going to let it go but during my conversation with him, he seemed like he was getting irritated so I asked for a refund for the chips and salsa. I should have asked for a refund for the entire meal. The burrito was super mid at best, I could barely taste or see the beans, the chicken was bland and had no seasoning. I guess they had so many orders of steak that there was a lot of steak chunks that ended up on my burrito’s outer tortilla shell and I don’t eat beef or pork. They claim the beans are vegetarian, I asked if they used lard or. Eat and I was told no. They are in the right neighborhood to survive cause they wouldn’t survive in...
Read moreThis place is no Frontera Grill, but for what this is, a late night and quick Mexican place, it really hits it out of the park. I think this place is good at all hours of the day. I have had breakfast, lunch, a dinner and 4 am drunk food. It's really great divey-Mexican food. And it's also really cheap. BUT IT'S CASH ONLY FYI.
They have amazing burritos, and the egg ones are particularly good (also delicious for breakfast). If you think Chipotle burritos are king, be prepared for something a bit different and way more authentic. The tacos with chorizo and cheese are another favorite of mine. Their guacamole is very simple with just onions and avacados. And while there are times I think it could be better, there are many when it's perfect as an offset to their pretty spicy sauces and salsas. Don't add the little red sauces to anything if you don't like a good spice factor. They also have excellent chips.
It can get loud when its full of drunk people, but usually you are drunk too so it doesn't matter. It's open until 5 am Wed-Sat. Pretty much always open, and...
