Instead of going to another Pizza restaurant we had never been to before that I was interested in,I decided to try my mom's pick which was this Pizza restaurant. We ordered a large Ground Beef pizza with half of it featuring the garlic ingredient I wanted, but the other half was just ground beef only for my mom's preference. It was most definitely served freshly hot about 40 minutes or more later, because that's how long it approximately took to finally be ready to eat.She made it very clear that she really likes their pizza. To me,their pizza was mediocre at best. The tomato sauce on their thin crust version that we ordered was anemic taste wise, instead of being robust or richly flavorful.Even their garlic ingredient was lacking in flavor unfortunately. The appetizer we chose was their temporary special they had aka "Cauliflower Wings".Their Cauliflower was fried with a breaded coating on it.We both was pleasantly surprised about how decent that turned out to be.Mom was going to order their "Jumbo Chicken Wings" at first until I somehow, someway convinced her to be open-minded to the fried Cauliflower I just talked about.Their acoustics or ambiance was a vocal jazz, pop, and even soul music variety. The volume level of playing their music choices was more like a subdued background, not gaudy like too many other restaurants in Chicago fortunately. The interior at this location was a nice, very wood based bar vibe design featuring bench seating and separate table seating. The bench seating is more "cushioned" than the separate table seating. The lighting was more on the dim side of things too though.Their restroom was nice enough looks wise, but their toilet inside the restroom had an inexcusable black stain on the toilet seat with a unexplainable filth inside the toilet bowl water of it too.One of the male employees was too eager to reach over the table and take away actual food I was clearly just starting to eat when we only had the appetizer to eat by the way.Needless to say, this trivial type of customer service is deeply offensive to me.Between me and you I think this male employee might be one of these deeply racist illegal aliens undercover, but I digress. My mom said she is or would come back there again, but I don't share the...

Read moreI was in the city for a conference and ended up having dinner here with another research group. Kaia was our server and she was wonderful! I have celiac disease and I'm very sensitive to cross contamination. She knew exactly what I was talking about and assured me that they would take care of me. She also asked the rest of the table if there were any other allergies she should be aware of and made notes to let the kitchen staff know. After ordering, the manager, Eddie, came over to triple check everything with me and run me through their safety protocols. He mentioned that their employees take a course on allergens and how to handle those in the workplace. It was so refreshing to be able to eat out and not have to worry about being accidentally poisoned. I felt a weight lift off my shoulders. The food was incredible! I ended up getting the gluten free pasta with the vodka sauce and chicken. It was so good I was almost convinced it was real pasta rather than gluten free! The portion was also huge so I had leftovers for days and it was just as delicious! I also got a glass of their sweet red wine. I love a sweet red and this one was just perfect. After dinner, they checked in with me again. I really appreciated the seriousness and their dedication to ensuring that the food they serve is free of allergens. I usually feel symptoms around 30 minutes after eating if I have consumed gluten and I felt 100% fine! The staff was incredibly kind and patient with us (we were a rather large group). It makes me sad that I don't live nearby because I would be back regularly! Kaia and Eddie...
