City View Tavern — Restaurant in Cincinnati

Burgers were absolutely amazing! Service not so much.

Bartender had a horrible attitude the minute we walked in. One patron asked him if they had a bathroom and the bartender looked at him and said “no we don’t have a bathroom….of course we have a bathroom dude you can’t have a business without a bathroom” in a very rude way. It was a fair question as the establishment isn’t the biggest and it was absolutely unnecessary for the bartender to respond to a patron in that manner.

Whatever, maybe the bartender was having a bad night. But as I continued to come up asking for a drink or to order my food, I was met with hostility and as if I was bothering him. I was nervous to ask or order anything due to how rude the bartender was acting, which is pretty ridiculous.

I believe the review below me is the man who walked in after we ate our burgers, which were amazing by the way!

A group of 4 walked in happy and within minutes we looked over and they were arguing with the bartender about his attitude and they ended up leaving immediately.

Looks like we weren’t the only ones who thought the bartender was insanely grumpy and rude.

Went out last night with friends to celebrate starting at city view tavern. We’ve never been and only heard good things. We were surprised to see how the local bar with great views of the city could have such a rude staff when we were 6 of maybe 15 people in the bar at its busiest! When asked for shots we’re we’re rudely told “I don’t know how to make anything, so just pick a bottle and il pour it!” After deciding to leave to explore other bars the next day was the worst. We were told by friends to check our card statements because they were all charged $200. After thinking as to why we were at a total loss as all bars typically charge $1 until the bill goes through. We along with friends tried reaching out to the bar when then after a lengthy process to even get contact, a discussion with a woman of unknown title, we were never told I’m sorry for the inconvenience or how can I keep your business type of attitude. As a whole group we are convinced there is some type of scam going on if you pay with cards! This Mt. Adams establishment was recommended for the view of the city of Cincinnati, looking south, which was great, especially if outside on the small covered deck with folding steel chairs. Evidently, one can smoke on the deck, as there was a filled ashtray on the table we could get and it was moved far away. No one was actually smoking when we were there, but you would not be able to avoid the smoke if someone was.This is a small tavern with some interesting artwork and memorabilia on the walls.They have a selection of burgers, with a vegetarian patty option, which we all had and found it was pretty good. Bagged potato and corn chips are offered as they're don't have a fryer for fried foods, a minor disappointment, but we managed to all get enough to eat to be satisfied and move on. Ok place to hang out if a view of the city is a priority. I also heard later that the Mt Adams Pavilion, an upscale venue, has great views and 4 floors, dancing and live music, but there is a dress code, so check it out before you choose that option, espcially if you are very...
