I cannot rate the food. I will tell you parking is on the street ,if you can find a spot. If you are lucky enough, make sure you ask the girl "running the place " at the end of day shift , what her arbitrary rules are for ordering food. I have never experienced service on this level in my life. I am extremely well traveled and was stopped over for the night on a business trip. After my associate was told he could only get from the warm bowl side , I had a bad taste in my mouth. The better choice would have been to inform us of an uncharge per item. That would have been fine. Money was never a. Issue. We've spent way more on less eating out. However , she proceeded to give e extreme attitude even when I asked her to not approach me again , as I was not being helped by her. A kind gentleman , who seemed better at customer service was taking his ques from her( not sure why , he's was much better to work with) After having my to go Salad drowned in an obscene amount of dressing , i was done. I commented to my associate "That we'll just pay for it ,throw it out and find somewhere else." Private conversation ! The girl charges up to me and says " well you can just leave!" So we did. This was Tuesday 7/1/25 - 640pm. We went back out into the torrential rain soaked ,hungry and disappointed. What a waste of time. As a business owner myself, If your lucky enough to get business through your door, Keep it. We would have dropped $50 -100. Instead, The restaurant down the street got our business. Btw, it was a a bar with live music and great service. Ill be giving Carters a 5 star review. If you see a big girl with a RBF...
Read moreButterhead's opening weekend was promising and I think the best estimation of this salad shop is that it's a diamond in the rough. Or maybe a crisp head of lettuce in the dirt?
Some strengths include:
The Strawberry Mint drink was really very good so I'd recommend that to anyone walking down Main Street- this will be an absolute banger on a hot Summer's day. We also had 2 different salads and all of the ingredients were very fresh. While the prices might be a touch more expensive than other cafes in the area, the quality of the ingredients at Butterhead is definitely better. Decor and branding are on point, inside and out, from the shop itself to the website. Don't change a thing. The owner is truly very sincere & kind, and more importantly, values customer feedback. Customer loyalty cards are always great.
The areas of opportunity that Butterhead could really take advantage of are mostly just tiny things that come along with newly opened businesses. I could recommend listing all of your salad specials out in-store like the website has. Be careful with the wicker seating because those have the tendency to wear out and break down quickly with a lot of use. Be sure the Open/Closed sign in flipped to Open! I noticed 3 - 4 parties walk up to the door, look inside, and then turn away because the sign...
Read moreSurprising spot in the heart of Downtown Beacon. Don’t let the name fool you—there’s a lot more than just your average boring salad here. Think Chipotle but with a more home grown and earthy vibe.
While the ordering process can be a tad confusing (in my humble opinion more signage could be helpful), I wound up choosing a Chicken Fajita Quinoa bowl. I subbed the quinoa for brown rice and the bowl was simply divine! The portions are large, there’s a substantial and equal amount of all the ingredients, and all of the flavors blend beautifully together. Their warm bowls are a much-needed and comforting alternative to a lot of the traditional winter lunch go-to’s.
Overall, the menu is a tad small and I would have liked to have seen a fresh drink menu to compliment the salads. It seemed like the majority of what they had was bottled water and tea.
My friend and I decided to eat our lunch inside. Sitting by the windows we were completely bathed in the sun which was lovely, especially on a cold day. The peacock wallpaper, the wicker chairs, and the braided lanterns really added to the whole experience. I’m looking forward to stopping in again the next time...
