Took a weekend 1 Day trip from CT to Beacon, NY. After a nice cup of Chocolate drink at the Bank Sq Co. Cafe, beung first time we wanted to see what was along main street. We had a nice stroll with the family and dog along the main street, as we also were trying to choose which restaurant to go to, especially with outside sitting (with a dog). We came upon this restaurant with the current picture (insert look) with some of the food and Thai bubble drinks, and decided on this one.
The food was easy enough to order. When it came to the drinks, there was an additional thing one could add and so choices to make. Being our first time here, I had to take abit of time to look for what choices they were. The woman helping me The first she asked which thing - i forget what I wanted to add as I looked to see the options she walked away to het something else for someone's order. Okay no big deal i could understand multi-tasking. But as i had to make another choice I think it was flavor type for two orders she started being inpatient and amswring rudely.
I explained to her how being out of town its first time at her restaurant and didnt know how it works. She went to ask me if i had ever had the bubble drinks, I said yes. Then she continues with other things, meanwhile shaking her head at me, like I should know and becoming even more rude. After telking me the total she walks away and I ask her if she is Okay, because it seems that either is upset at me or something. I tell her she is being rude actually.
At this point I wanted to keep my peace, and decided to Cancel this order and get of their restaurant.
The attendant was very rude, yet there was absolutely no one behind me, like I was wasting her time or something along that.
I recoomend, if this woman.is at the front taking client orders she needs to work on her attitude to customers. It just was NOT good and I don't know if she had other things going on before I went it. I had a very bad experience unfortunately with the...
Read moreNote that any reviews before June 2023 are of the previous owner. Great Wall has a new owner who truly cares about the business, the food, and the customers. Service is friendly, prices are reasonable in an expensive town, and the restaurant is clean with many visible improvements. Owner and employees work hard 6 days per week including all weekends, and the restaurant is busy every single time I go. Food is made from high quality ingredients, quantities are excellent, service is fast but not so fast that it compromises the food. It's a hometown place where the owner will know you, and wave when you merely walk by on the sidewalk. Menu is expanding to bring new things like Boba drinks. If you want overpriced table service or cheap buffet Chinese food, then go find it, but neither will match the value, quality, caring, and overall consistently great experience...
Read moreToday, on Saturday, August 24th, 2024, I had to kill time between doing chores in the morning and having to go to a meeting in the afternoon. I was hungry for some inexpensive Chinese food, so I ordered the Shrimp Chow Mein with fried rice and an egg roll. Weeks earlier I had the large Almond milk tea with extra Tapioca Pearl (extra portion), no sugar and light ice. (I didn't miss the sugar!) This time, with my Shrimp Chow Mein Combination Plate (lunch), I had a large Matcha Milk Tea with extra Tapioca Pearl (extra portion), no sugar and light ice (again, I didn't miss the sugar!)
The lady at the counter was very friendly, offering me a wet paper towel when I spilled hot mustard over my straw hat from Australia, leaving no stain. I like the clean bright ambience. I will return, not only to eat the restaurant, but for...
