Coral Seafood Restaurant: A Mixed Bag with Potential Coral Seafood Restaurant provided a somewhat uneven experience for our party of 11 celebrating my son's 21st birthday. As a first-time visitor, I was struck by the attractive decor, which leans towards an Italian seafood concept rather than purely being a seafood restaurant.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the seafood pasta dish. It was outstanding, boasting a fresh and well-prepared flavor profile that easily earns a full 5 stars. The quality of the ingredients shone through, and the execution was spot-on.
However, the experience was marred by some inconsistencies. The staff seemed a bit undertrained, lacking the polish one might expect in a restaurant aiming for a high-class experience. This impression was further solidified by the restroom amenities. While functional, the use of Bounty paper towels instead of traditional hand towels felt out of place. The sticky, residue-leaving hand soap also detracts from the overall attention to detail. These seemingly small details can significantly impact the perceived quality of the dining experience.
Our server also made a mistake by discarding our leftovers, despite a request for them to be packed to go. Thankfully, the situation was rectified, and the server generously replaced the meal for us to take home. This gesture was greatly appreciated and speaks to a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Overall:
Food (Seafood Pasta): 5 stars - Delicious and fresh! Ambiance: Good - Nice decor, but leans more Italian seafood. Service: 3 stars - Needs improvement in training and attention to detail. Restroom Amenities: 2 stars - Inconsistent with the restaurant's perceived class. Despite the shortcomings in service and amenities, the exceptional food quality, particularly the seafood pasta, makes Coral Seafood Restaurant worth a second visit. I plan to return and update my review, hoping to see improvements in the service and attention to detail that would elevate the experience to match the quality of the cuisine. This restaurant clearly has potential, and with a few tweaks, it could...
Read moreWe went here for dinner on my birthday. First of all, it is a lovely restaurant, and the service was so nice. It was lively and full of chatter on a Saturday night. We were seated at our window seat, and I loved the pita with feta and blistered peppers that were complimentary and at the table even before we got our menus. We got a couple of drinks - I had to try the paloma and I loved it, and my husband had a drink called the High Tide. We started off with half a dozen oysters that came with a cocktail sauce and horseradish and were fresh and lovely. We then moved on to a lovely tender and charred octopus. For mains, I had the grilled black sea bass and opted to have it whole, with a side of sauteed mushrooms. The fish was beautifully tender and flavorful, everything you'd want, and the mushrooms well cooked. My husband had their red snapper special served over linguini with a marinara sauce and mussels, and it was lovely as well. Even with the sauce and the pasta, the seafood was still the hero. In the end, they even brought out a complimentary slice of yummy cheesecake and sang happy birthday for me. That definitely made me so happy 😍. It was a lovely spot to celebrate, and I definitely see...
Read moreI hate to do this to a new place but they've been gone for 3 months or something and I was there on a Friday night and it was relatively empty... Waiter said it was one of their busiest nights ever.
Service was really disappointing.. took a while/they forgot about our drinks..
To the food.. the peppers , feta cheese and pita is interesting. Not great but not bad... Id suggest giving a side of olive oil or something for the pita..
We had a crab cake $21 for one... Couldn't taste any crab.. nearly all filler and bread crumbs etc .. also had brussel sprouts with a bacon cream sauce that was awful..barely cooked. Ya gotta just sear those and give them a little crisp.. they were soggy and hard unflavored .. can't mess up a Caesar salad..that was fine..
Had a seafood pasta but was only given 2 shrimp.. few mussels and some calamari with very little pasta underneath. Very underwhelming sadly .
Only good thing was the chocolate cake dessert...
On a positive note, it's a very nice looking place, great ambiance . Wanted to at least give em 2...
