This could be my favorite restaurant in Westchester. I love the beautiful ambience and decor, upscale but not stuffy, and good acoustics (if you’re hard of hearing you’ll understand). They have a great lounge area and bar. There are plenty of tables for couples or larger groups. I especially like the two large but cozy booths. There is a private wine room for a large party. I’m guessing seating for 40 at two very long tables. The staff is always attentive and polite. The owner is so kind and friendly and really cares that you are happy and satisfied, giving excellent guidance on the menu to make your choices. Last night, my group consisted of a very picky vegan, a health nut/high protein dieter, a carnivore, a vegetarian, and a foodie/ snob. This hit the mark for everyone. We enjoyed the delicious warm bread, not the typical dry pita I’ve had at many Mediterranean / Middle East restaurants, with a trio of dips (yogurt with shallots, hummus, and eggplant) all fresh and so flavorful. The portions on the dips were very generous and they brought out extra bread when requested. The stuffed dates were a big hit, perfect combination of sweet, creamy, and savory. I can’t wait to try more of the appetizers next time I visit. The falafel meal was very good with an amazing dried cherry and pistachio rice. The Persian stew was absolutely delicious with incredible flavor and texture, so many vegetable dishes like this are mushy which I hate. The branzino was devoured by our “I’m really not that hungry eater” as well as the side of zucchini it came with. The lamb shank was also loved by the two who ordered it. The meat was tender, falling off the bone, in a wonderful gravy and served with another of their special rice dishes. Even the side of crisp potatoes with green dip, I have no idea what it was, was addictive. For dessert, the saffron ice cream was out of this world. Creamy with the taste of rose water, so different and satisfying. The coconut cake was light, airy, not too sweet, and a perfect ending. If it’s your first time here you’ll be surprised to see there is also a sushi bar. When Shiraz moved in to this new location they decided to keep the sushi bar from the previous owners. While I have not personally had their sushi I’ve heard it...
Read moreAs some may know, Shiraz had one of their locations in Elmsford originally. While I can imagine how heartbreaking it was for the owners to lose this location, Shiraz has risen from the ashes and created this new location. From the moment you step into this Mediterranean gem, you're greeted by an ambiance that seamlessly blends sophistication with warmth. The decor, with its tasteful nods to both tradition and modernity, sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
Their menu is simple, with two pages to refer to, which is a plus since you know they will put their whole heart into what is provided. Each dish is a masterpiece, showcasing the richness and diversity of Mediterranean cuisine. The chefs at Shiraz have truly mastered the art of flavor alchemy, creating dishes that are not just delicious but also an exploration of taste sensations. One delightful surprise at Shiraz is the inclusion of sushi on the menu. While it may seem unexpected in a Mediterranean restaurant, the sushi at Shiraz is a testament to the restaurant’s versatility and commitment to culinary innovation. The sushi offerings seamlessly integrate with the Mediterranean fare, providing a unique twist that adds an extra layer of excitement to the dining experience. While I haven’t tried their wine yet, Shiraz has an extensive list of it, and I’m sure they can cater to any taste one may crave. What truly elevates Shiraz to a league of its own is the impeccable service. The servers are not just attentive; they are passionate about ensuring your dining experience is nothing short of extraordinary.

Read moreWe went here yesterday for Mother's Day. None of us ever had Persian food, but saw it was similar to other Mediterranean fare. It was easy to get to and easy to find parking. The place is really neat and clean. It was pretty packed for 4pm on a Sunday (but, Mother's Day). We were seated promptly by the owner, who was amazing and gave great recommendations, and checked in with us throughout our time there. We ordered the smoked eggplant with roasted garlic, fresh hummus, and the owner recommended some yogurt dish because they were out of the chicken/egg/vegetable thingy we originally wanted, and it was everyone's favorite! For entrees, I had the saffron chicken kebab with saffron basmati and roasted tomato, bf & his brother had the lamb shank with cherry pistachio rice (soooooooo good!!) and roasted tomato, mom had the filet kabab with saffron basmati and roasted tomato. For dessert, I had the pistachio baklava (drool-worthy) and pistachio gelato, bf had the Persian love cake (so delicious!) with raspberry sorbet surrounded by dark chocolate, brother had the roulette cake, and mom had assorted warm macarons. We drank a bottle of Brunello and it went perfectly with our meal. We were all overall pleasantly surprised by how great of a meal and atmosphere at Shiraz Kitchen. I recommend it and would definitely go back. (We were so hungry we didn't take ANY pictures, lol). ALSO!! Complimentary glass of champagne to all moms was...
