Today I visited Penn Station. Well let me give you all the low down. As soon as I came in I was greeted. Ordered my sandwich Philly Cheese steak with fries & drink. Please note views there items are sold separately. My order came to $9.84 which was pretty pricey. Considering how small the sub was, a 6" inch. When I paid I took notice to the sub being made before mine. There was a large amount of cheese I assume was not properly melted and the sub maker grabbed it off and served it. I thought this was a very odd practice. My order was delivered to my table by "D". Upon looking at it I was pleased at the presentation. Bubbly & hot had to wait a while to devour it. It was better than any sub I have had before. My bread wad soft, perfect amount of crustyness, golden brown on the outside and the fries were a golden brown as well. I was surprised that I liked it. I also enjoyed the fact that my sandwhich had little charry grilled bits on it from Being cooked on thr grill fresh. Mine had steak cheese mustard, mayo, pizza sauce, onions and mushrooms. Was a fine mix for my personal taste. The sandwich maker (Hendersonville)made suggestions for me. The only I thing I didn't put directly on my sub was the grilled banana peppers ( the peppers had a bite to them)and I enjoyed those on the side. I did enquire to the staff member why no one wears gloves. He explains due to there grill being 350°degrees and oven being 450° any germs bacteria will be killed. Still makes me a lil uneasy. They also have a 100% score with the health department. There restrooms were clean, however the trash was pretty high which needed to be emptied but with as busy as there store is I would say its reasonable. There parking lot was clean as well. For the price of the meal you get, I was expecting more meat/toppings. I will say I was satisfied with everything over all. They have several fountain drinks, as well as Lemon aid, sweet & unsweet tea too. Baked chocolate cookies, varieties of chips too.

I will first say that this was our first time ordering anything from a Penn Station Subs. Perhaps more familiarity would have any misconceptions we had. Food tasted great multi-grain bread. Philly cheesecake tasted great (wish they offered green bell peppers for it). Chicken Philly had a great taste. Seemed very pricey for individual large sandwiches at over $17, but realize inflation has done this. Kids snack-size pizza sub looked good but was....well....exactly as they call it. Snack size. Ironically it was what my son ate and then he said he was full. We were supposed to get regular lays potato chips with his sandwich but got kettle cooked jalapeño chips instead. French fry sizes are advertised as follows: Small: Individual Medium: to share Large: for the whole family We ordered a small and medium fry - had both containers full and bottom of bag had more fries than the medium. Since they got his chip order wrong this worked out, but would have ordered a medium and large had we known. Fries tasted great though and were adequately salted without overdoing it. The delivery person was cheerful and pleasant - very nice and food was packaged accordingly and sealed as to prevent anyone taking food out of our bag. I will admit that I was initially upset with Penn Station, but the quality of food is great - it changed my mind. Not a single complaint from my family about the temp or flavor of our food. Prices are high everywhere, but I think the value was there for our order. I definitely would buy from them again. Next time we can better gauge what we would want to order but I definitely will be ordering a large chicken Philly again. Yes, the order wasn't 100% correct, but everything was delicious.

I will start by saying the sandwich, and fresh cut fries were delicious. However, be ready to pay Panera Bread prices because this place is expensive. In my opinion, the pricing schemes are a tad high for a sandwich shop. Additionally, they do not offer any combo meals, forcing you to order a la carte. After looking at the menu, I settled for the 6" Philadelphia Cheesesteak sandwich (looked more like 5"), small fries, and small fountain soft drink. For this reason, I was a bit shocked when the bill totaled $9.53, mind you this includes their 15% military discount. Although they brag about their freshly squeezed lemonade, I decided to pass on it because a small one is $2.49 ($2.73 with tax) which is unfair considering it is lemon, water, and sugar. There is nothing fancy about this place, but they do have a large seating area (2 tables occupied during my visit), clean bathrooms and an open kitchen where guests can see food prepared while they wait. Conversely, I would say they need to lower their prices before I consider coming back for a visit. Finally, I did not get the receipt for my purchase nor was I offered one at checkout. AP SCORE: Pass

I recently visited this establishment and had an overall disappointing experience. While I understand that the employee who took my order appeared to be in training, there were a number of issues that detracted from the visit.

Firstly, I noticed a discrepancy in the way I was treated compared to a customer who ordered after me. Fortunately, a staff member overheard and noticed that I was being charged incorrectly, and she kindly informed me that there was a special for the month, which saved me a few dollars. I appreciate her attentiveness.

However, there were several other concerns. I found black debris in my ice, and when I inquired about bottled drinks, I was told they weren’t available. Instead, I was offered lemonade, but when I asked if the ice used for it came from the same machine, I was met with uncertainty. As someone who works with ice machines, I always check the ice before filling my drink, and I felt uneasy about this.

Additionally, my wife received a dark-colored soda, which raised concerns. Thankfully, I caught the issue before she took a sip.

To make matters worse, the state of the bathrooms was unacceptable. The floor around the urinals was so slippery I couldn’t stand properly, and I was unsure if the substance was urine or something else. It was only concentrated around the toilet area.

Overall, this visit left much to be desired, and I won’t be returning. I hope the establishment takes these issues seriously and works to improve the cleanliness and service for...
