We found this little gem while vacationing in Florida. Luckily it was right across the street from where we were staying at the Hampton Inn on South Clearwater Beach.
They serve regular ice cream as well as a variety of gelatos, coffees, cookies, baked goods, crepes. It was a dream place for me.
The first visit we stuck with ice cream, gelatos and milk shakes. Limencello gelato was good but Nutella was even better. It was so creamy and smooth, and who doesn't like Nutella?? (Except perhaps those with nut allergies. Then yes, please avoid.) My daughter got the birthday cake ice cream and cookies and cream ice cream. She loves both but decided she would get gelato next time after eating some of mine. My son was happy with his cookies and cream ice cream while my husband stuck with his vanilla shake with fudge. We were quite happy but couldn't help eyeing the cookie and bakery case.
We went back the second day after going to Captain Bligh's Landing mini golf. The peach smoothie was perfect after a sweltering day to cool off. Perfectly refreshing. Though I normally prefer mango, I would recommend the peach smoothie over the mango or raspberry ones (though was ok). My daughter enjoyed the Nutella and the Birthday cake gelato (while taking sips of both smoothies). While my husband had the two flavor with the vanilla gelato and the orange creamsicle sherbet. He liked these better than the blueberry, that he had in one of our later visits.
Throughout the week, we went multiple times, we took some cookies which reminded me of the tray of Italian cookies you would buy in the store. The limencello cake and the carrot cake probably initially came frozen and presliced but the flavors of the carrot cake was good. It was chunky with grated carrots and golden raisins which my husband enjoyed. The limencello cake was ok though I think it would have been better if I had let it come to room temperature more. Kids still thoroughly enjoyed their gelatos (their go-to picks being birthday cake, Nutella, and chocolate). We bought a little pack of macarons which we ate on the car ride back to NC. The shells were full with a nice crisp exterior with full soft center yet not overly sweet a lovely treat for the road. Wish we bought two packs.
The service was great and everyone was super friendly. We were so happy to have stayed in the hotel across the street from them so we could frequent this shop several times during our week stay...
Read moreCame here for an affogato and was very satisfied ❤️. My friends and I ordered an affogato each, one with coconut, hazelnut, tiramisu, and Ferraro Rocher gelato. Of the four, my favorite was the coconut. There were small flakes of coconut that added to the flavor and just gave it that little bit of extra to set it apart from the others. Each of us enjoyed our orders so much that we came back two nights in a row!
We sampled a few gelato flavors and as a stand alone I would have opted for the Nutty flavor which is much like Nutella.
On our second visit I also ordered a Caesar salad, because why not?! It was freshly made with shaved Parmesan, but the dressing was just terrible. It was worse than store bought dressing. That was the furthest from a Caesar dressing flavor that I can think of. The dressing was extremely salty and just not a good Caesar flavor. I was disappointed because as good as everything else we tried was, I thought their dressing would have also been made in house and it was not. At the very least, they should rethink the brand of dressing they use because it is a big NO NEVER AGAIN for me.
The truffles we ordered looked pretty, but they were super sweet, dare I say too sweet. Flavors would have been best if they cut back on the sweetness just a bit.
Overall, I’d give this a 7/10. The gelato is great! Come for the gelato’s! Maybe pass on the truffles, or try one for yourself and see if it’s just too sweet to me. I’d love to hear another opinion on it. Stay away from the Caesar salad. Just don’t.
7/10, but I’d come again...
Read moreIf you're searching for a taste of Italy, look no further—this place has it all! The cappuccino is pure perfection, transporting you straight to a café in Italy with its rich flavor and velvety texture. My parents drove two hours just to enjoy it, and it was worth every mile.
The desserts here are incredible. The Italian donut filled with Nutella was heavenly, and the mixed berry dessert? It melts in your mouth. The lemon delight was refreshing and bright. Every dessert is imported fresh from Italy, making them truly authentic. And the gelato, handmade by Mr. Jimmy and his wife, is unbelievably delicious.
Beyond the incredible food, the experience was made even more special by the owner, Mr. Jimmy. His hospitality was unmatched—welcoming us like family, engaging us in wonderful conversation, and radiating passion for his craft. It's rare to find a place where both the service and the food are equally exceptional, but this spot truly delivers.
A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Jimmy and his team for such a fantastic experience. We can't wait...
