Never again. My husband and I decided to spend our Christmas vacation in Clearwater and stayed here for a week. First off, apparently this place considers itself a resort and will charge you a daily resort fee when you arrive - already paid for your room, in full? Well, you now get to pay for a resort fee when you arrive to check in. Maybe this is normal for Clearwater hotels... But seriously "resort" is laughable. Call it a tax. Don't believe the overly photoshopped photos. Nothing looks like that.
If you want a "resort" experience, go to Shoals or I am willing to bet the Holiday Inn down the street would have a more "resort-like" experience. What was the overall experience at this "resort"? Let's start with the "amenities" that are included for a couple hundred bucks a night: no immediate beach access like the website says - like none at all, the wifi was spotty, the only ice machine in the entire "resort" was not functioning, there was no ice machine in the room freezer or even ice trays, there was no breakfast or any complimentary snacks, no gym, and no room service of any kind. You had to request new towels, sheets, room cleaning or a turn down service - they sited COVID as the rational for this. There was no complimentary water or anything other than single-serve coffee/tea pods, the kitchenette didn't have a coffee pot but rather the single-serve imposter Keurig, the stove top was not level or clean, the oven was dirty, all the dishes were kept in the dishwasher and don't get me started on the quality of the cookware. There was not a bedroom closet but only a tiny bathroom closet. There was cheap dollar general plastic furniture on the balcony and the pull out couch was super uncomfortable and full of 'crumbs' when you pulled it out (needless to say we quickly folded it back up). The hairdryer looked like it was from the 80s, the room had two tiny TVs, light switches that ranged from functional to non-functional, cracks and peals all over the walls and ceiling, mold in the bathroom and we had to fix the toilet multiple times because the pull chain, that controls the plunger, kept falling loose in the tank.
Oh, let me tell you about the first room's refrigerator! It didn't work. My husband went down to speak with the office about it. He wasn't even back yet and there was a knock on the door. I answered and saw this young man. No name tag, name badge, nothing indicating he works at the "resort". Very professional. He explained he was there to look at the fridge. I asked, how am I supposed to know you actually work here? His response was to show me a walkie talkie, like that explained and validated everything. He proceeded to fumble around in the fridge - I explain that the dial to regulate the temperature in the fridge was missing and we used pliers (yes we carry tools when on a road trip) to turn the internal dial, both directions, and the temperature in the fridge never changed. Husband returns to the room, young man claims he can fix it and leaves. Some time later we get a phone call saying they are going to move us to an "upgraded room" two doors down. What's the upgrade you ask - same pool view but instead of a king we have two queens. Oh and that if we gave them a receipt for ice purchases, they would reimburse us.
The location is fabulous. Tons of things to do within walking distance or a short drive away. Beautiful beaches and sunsets. Just don't waste your time or hard earned money and stay at the so-called "resort"...
Read moreCoconut Cove All Suites is a mockery of a vacation destination. From the moment we discovered a broken security chain on our front door, we were plunged into a grim and discomforting stay.||The bedrooms and bathrooms were a privacy nightmare with non-existent locks. Picture yourself paying for a 'suite' where you can't even ensure your own privacy. That's the unpalatable starter course in the grotesque feast that this place serves up.||The suite was an unsettling exhibition of broken appliances, the very embodiment of flagrant neglect. The toaster was reduced to a pointless prop, completely useless, and the refrigerator barely functioned - a glorified cupboard rather than a cooling device.||Dirty dishes languished forgotten in the dishwasher, an egregious indication of the hotel's disregard for cleanliness. The stove bore a sickening coat of old food and grime. Everywhere we turned, there was dust, dirt, and evidence of an almost aggressive disregard for cleanliness. Even the lamp shades were victims, torn and discolored.||Stepping outside did nothing to lift our spirits. The pool area was a minefield of small rocks, making every step a painful ordeal. The decking was so badly damaged that it posed a safety risk, adding peril to what should have been a relaxing environment. Beds were an exercise in discomfort, sagging depressingly, and the pull-out sofa was a gallery of unidentifiable and off-putting stains.||Online, Coconut Cove All Suites masquerades as a haven, thanks to manipulated images on Instagram and Facebook. But those images are a fantasy. The real picture is starkly different - the place is a dilapidated dump, nothing more. Despite this, the audacity of the management knew no bounds, charging us a 'resort fee' of $22 a day. The supposed amenities, like bicycles, were predictably out of service, like so many other things in this shambolic establishment.||As for the staff, they were a constant source of disappointment. Worn down by a perpetual stream of justified complaints, they reacted with blatant rudeness. Any discussions about a refund were met with dismissive indifference.||Our stay was such a debacle that we decided to throw in the towel. We checked out early, deciding to forgo our prepaid days. Paying for a decent room elsewhere was preferable to spending another minute in this abhorrent place.||This is more than a review, it's a dire warning to all considering Coconut Cove All Suites. Ignore the luring online images and choose literally anywhere else. This place is an absolute disaster, a disastrous caricature of a hotel, and an experience to avoid...
Read moreCustomers/front desk service sickened rude with horrible attitudes "if you don't like our policy, either deal with it or find another hotel to rent". Don’t just take my words for it, I also witness a family before me gotten treated unfairly. I overheard their conversation while standing inline observing, as the family booked/reserved a poolside beforehand, and when they’ve arrived, no poolside was available and gave them the same attitude they gave me. Here’s what transpired between the front desk and me. My wife check-in a day before I've arrived which I couldn't check in at the same time due to work. When I arrived, I went to the front desk to get a second parking pass for my car; the lady at the front desk told me there's only one parking allowed per resident so I will have to find a parking for my car. In Clearwater, it’s impossible to find a free parking. After a block away, I finally found a parking, and had to flag down a police officer just to make sure is illegal for me to park there. To make a long story short, I was there for 3 days and watched their parking space, what's ridiculous is that for 3 days, their parking space maintains 35 percent full, nowhere near to its full compacity. Here's what I don't understand, one resident who parks next to my wife car drove a Ford F250 extended-cab pulling a wide trailer towing two jet skis behind it which took four parking space, and I'm not allowed to have a second parking space, seriously? However, I would completely understand if they were 65 to 70 capacity, but they were no way close. Besides dealing with crappy customers service, this place is an average, the wall is thin, you can hear your neighbor. The facility is clean, great room service, and good location. Beside one car per resident, I think they would make an exception one time to keep customers happy since they were only 30 percent full. I am a manager myself; I have bent the rules occasionally and do what is necessary to keep the customers happy, after all, I mean we're talking about a parking space. To the management, where do you get off screaming and yelling at your customers? It’s so unprofessional for you to barge out to the pool area start screaming and yelling at my wife and my child to get off the property in front of others guest just because I wrote an honest Google Review. Is this how you treat peoples especially your guest? Your true colors show your behavior and unprofessionalism conduct. My advice to you, next time uses a different approach; treat your customers the way you would want to be treated thus, you might not get left with a...
