Title: Exceptional Pizza Experience!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Review: I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gondolier Pizza, and I must say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. From the moment I entered, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the stage for a delightful meal.
The staff at Gondolier Pizza was incredibly friendly and attentive. They greeted us with genuine smiles and promptly seated us. Our server was knowledgeable, passionate, and happy to guide us through the extensive menu, which showcased a variety of mouthwatering options.
Now let's talk about the star of the show—the pizza! The moment our pizzas arrived at the table, we knew we were in for a treat. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy, with just the right amount of chewiness. The toppings were fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. Each bite was a burst of culinary bliss.
Not only was the pizza phenomenal, but the overall dining experience was also noteworthy. The restaurant had a charming ambiance, complete with tasteful decor and cozy seating. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the presentation of the dishes to the impeccable cleanliness of the dining area.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention the exceptional customer service we received throughout our visit. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met, and they even accommodated special dietary requests with utmost care.
Gondolier Pizza truly exceeded my expectations in every aspect. It's evident that they take pride in their craft, using high-quality ingredients and expert techniques to create pizza perfection. Whether you're a local or a visitor to the area, I highly recommend Gondolier Pizza for an unforgettable dining experience.
I cannot wait to return to Gondolier Pizza and explore more of their menu offerings. A big thank you to the entire team for making our evening...
Read moreWould love to give more stars bc the food was really good, but the way they handled seating customers was awful. We were told just to wait in line, which we did. Multiple people passed the line(which was decently long) and went inside and did not come back out. Finally we went inside, and I spoke with the man handling seating. He took my name and party size but didn’t write it down - but said “one minute let me clear this table” insinuating that we would be seated there. He then proceeded to seat at least another 4 parties who arrived after us. I went up twice and politely asked to make sure he had us down because others were being seated before us who arrived after us - I was basically waved off. When I tried to speak to him once more he refused to answer my question of why we kept being bypassed and would just say “one minute one minute.” Finally he bypassed us yet again and pulled a party of 3(same as my party) from outside who arrived MUCH later than us and that party insisted he seat us first - otherwise he would have continued to ignore us. There was another party also waiting who was trying to be our champions and telling this man to seat us first. You would think I had done something awful to his family the way he treated me. Everyone in my party and around us was dumbfounded by his actions. Our server and the food was great - it was very busy and the food came out very quickly. But this man handling the seating really ruined the initial impression of the place. So, whoever was handling this during dinner on 11/26 should not handle seating. Also, your establishment NEEDS a host/hostess signing people in at the door - NOT in the middle of the restaurant at the desert counter - and ensuring seating is handled properly. I know we were not the only frustrated people at the...
Read moreWe were staying in the Clearwater Sheraton and weren't in the mood to go out so we got carryout from here. It's an easy drive over the bridge and parking was easy too. We got a medium kalamatiano white pizza (a house specialty), the Gondolier stromboli, and shrimp linguine with a side Caesar salad. It came with a couple of bread sticks that were fried like donuts. tl;dr it was all good.
The pizza was cute and a good size for one person if that's all you got. Not exactly deep dish but definitely cooked in a dish. Not New York style, if that's something you care about. The crust is light and airy but substantial enough to hold things together. The mix of toppings on the kalamatiano really capture the Italian-Greek fusion this place is going for and I would get this one again in a heartbeat. My partner (who grew up in PA and went to Penn State) said it was "like a good PA pizza."
The greens in the salad were super fresh and crispy. The croutons and dressing were fine, basically average. Not a bad salad, but nothing to write home about, either.
The stromboli was great. I went for their house special. (If I don't know too much about a place I tend to go for the dishes the put their name on.) I'm not a stromboli connoisseur, but it was chock full of toppings, crispy on the outside and didn't fall apart on you. Very much looking forward to the leftovers on this one tomorrow.
The pasta was good. The shrimp were cooked just right--plump with a crisp bite to them. The noodles were al dente, and the sauce was not too oily or over powering. Lots of mushrooms and the capers added the right something.
I would definitely recommend this place. The food was ready quickly. If anything, I ordered too much for just two people, but I was happy to have leftovers...
