Review from 2022: Food was okay. Service was terrible. Wait time was very slow for breakfast. Did not appreciate the waitress' snarky attitude and eye rolling towards my mother.
Review from 2024: I'm staying in Clearwater beach again, across the street from here at the JW Marriott. I overheard someone talking about the acai bowl and i really wanted that for breakfast this morning so I walked across the street at 7:30 am to place my to go order. When I walked in I could see they weren't very busy, not surprising given how early it was. A woman came to greet me (very much diner vibe) and when I said to go order she directed me to the back counter and said the woman there would take my order. So I went back there and took a seat since I have an injury and I figured I'd be there several minutes waiting for the order. So I wait, there are three waitresses in the small area, none acknowledge me. I see the kitchen workers notice me there, one says hello. That was the only friendly greeting I had received. After about 5 minutes of waiting at the to-go counter, the waitress who had directed me to go back there finally asked the other one if she had taken my order, they have a little back and forth, then then the one who was apparently supposed to take my order did the biggest eye roll, I don't even think she was the one from two years ago who kept rolling her eyes at my mother when we sat down there to eat. Upon the drastic eye roll I excused myself and left. These waitresses really need an attitude adjustment. I grew up in the area - this spot is no longer the low-end side of the beach. People across the street now are paying $500 a night and they dont want some crackish waitress treating them like garbage. I guess if the guys in the kitchen could have taken my order they would have, and probably been very nice and friendly about it. At least these awful waitresses don't...
Read moreWhere to start.. my significant other and I went to eat here on vacation. Upon arrival, we saw the establishment is understaffed which is perfectly normal in todays day in age. We sat outside and waiting for our server. Took about 45 minutes to get our food. I ordered the Greek avacado toast.. the dish was poorly put together and sloppy. The tomatoes were by far the worst part. They were wet, hot and slimy. The combination of the warm avacado, the hot mushy tomatoes, and the poorly made over easy eggs (which were under cooked on both sides.) the combination of all 3 of these elements made one bite mimic eating baby food out of a jar. Overall the dish, in my opinion was not edible. I asked the server to take it off of my bill so I could pay and leave. The waitress informed me that prior customers had complained about the tomatoes on the dish as well and last time she had to pay for it herself. We of course did not want her to pay for it and asked for her manager. She took the dish to the manager and brought the dish back and said the manager told her ‘she knew the tomatoes were on it when she ordered it, that’s not our fault’ the waitress put the dish back down in front of me. I asked for her manager, and she told me she was in the kitchen and that she couldn’t come out. I have never had a manager at a food establishment blame me for their poor quality of food. Avoid this place at all costs, food was below mediocre, and service was very mediocre. Our poor waitress was clearly over sat and overwhelmed. We will never return here if...
Read moreWas semi busy but were seated quickly. They were still setting up our table before we sat down. However the coffee cup that they had on my table was still dirty with someone elses lipstick. They changed it quick. Ordered the plate with the mixed fruit crepe that came with fruit on the side. The crepe was great, Ive never had those kinds of fruit on my crepe before. The eggs, bacon and potatoes were fine, just too much potatoes. They took up more than half the plate. The fruit on the side was a different story. I think that since they put them on most plates, they keep them right beside the grill. The pieces of pineapple, cantelope, and orange were all warm. And they all tasted of old grease. I tried each one just to make sure because I love fresh fruit. I managed to eat the pineapple but the cantelope was too bitter and the orange was both bitter and sour and I ended up spitting it out because it was so bad. My partner, who also loves fruit, coulsnt eat the pineapple because it tasted too much like old grease but he did eat the cantelope and orange and said they tasted only slightly like old grease. Which is why I feel like they keep the fruits right next to the grill and the ice probably melted because of that making the fruit warm. Our waitress was ok, not friendly but she got the job done so no complaints. Other than the fruit, it was an...
