Wave Nightclub at Shephard's — Restaurant in Clearwater

Ok I’m one that hates people who write reviews but I really should’ve listened to that 2 star average review because I can’t believe the nerve of this place. I came with two friends, both who are 21 and I myself am 19. My intention was to never underage drink here. My 21 year old friends and I are not from Florida, we live in Michigan, and normally they order more than 1 drink from themselves at the bar back at home. When they ordered three rounds of shots, 2 for the one friend and one for the other, the bartender immediately grabbed security and accused us of trying to buy alcohol for minors. I understand she’s doing her job and could get fired for selling alcohol to minors, but the way it was apparoached was unnecessary. We weren’t even there for five minutes and after being accused for something we weren’t doing, we got escorted out. Look, I work in customer service, I’m not one to complain, but this is as stupid. I called this club and asked for my money back and they told me that I needed to call back the next day to get this straightened out. So I hung up and had my friend call, and then that was when we went back to speak with a manager, who let us back in, however, they would not let us on the upper level of the club because we were labeled as “sketchy” by the bartenders. So we couldn’t even enjoy the club. Spoke to the manager AGAIN because they wouldn’t serve us so we were directed outside so my friends could get served drinks at that bar. I’d just like to point out that the outside was the ONLY nice part of the club. Clubs are dark and have better music. I also would like to point out that I had a few people come up to my group and tell us that this club sucks and to go to another one, which should’ve been our first warning. Actually, the two star warning on your google pop up should’ve been the first warning, but I’m here on vacation and not many places here are 18+ and I was willing to give it a chance. Glad I did cuz like I said, I’m not one to complain on these things and it takes me a lot to get mad, but this club pushed me to my limit. And not only did they do that, but they somehow managed to do it in a span of less than 30 minutes. Oh, also.. we never got our money back :) Have fun whoever decides to come...

What a Joke of a “Club” – $400 Down the Drain for Trash Service! If I could give zero stars, I would. My friends and I dropped $200 for a table and another $200 for a bottle, thinking we’d have a good night. Big mistake. One of my friends felt a little sick with the first shot of Tequila and quietly threw up as she said some food just came up. It was nothing dramatic, nobody even noticed. We wiped her leg and a bit that got on a carpet. I respectfully asked a waiter if someone can come to pick up the tissues and they agreed. Two people came: one person that picked up the tissues of the floor and sprayed the carpet area and another person that appeared to be security guy that had his flash light on the spot for a better visibility for the guy that “cleaned”. We tipped the man for that and said thanks. TWO HOURS later, a security guard storms over like we committed a crime( the same guard that was holding the flash light for the clean up) and tells us we have to pay and leave now because someone threw up. He stood over the table to make sure we close the bill and leave the table. None of us were drunk (we each had two shots by that time as we were relaxing and taking our time), or none of us had slurred speech, or unbalanced walk/ poor coordination as someone of intoxication would.. So I asked him:” You tell us that now? Two hours later? “ to which he responded that yes because earlier he was busy taking care of other things. This security kids look 25 years of age at the maximum. A kid! Excuse me?! We’re three women who PAID $400 to be there, and instead of customer service, we get humiliated and escorted out by a random male security guard like we’re causing trouble? Disgusting behavior. We were leaving the place and outside I turned to my friend to tell her something and realized that this security guards is walking with us to make sure we leave! Joke!! This was my first and last time at this place. I will gladly take my business and my money elsewhere!!! This place loves your money but has zero class, zero professionalism, and zero respect for paying customers. If you enjoy throwing money away and being treated like garbage, this is your spot. I usually try to give places the benefit of the doubt but this place doesn't deserve that in my opinion. I pay $28 for 4 people and go to the bar to order a drink. I place my order while the other people I'm with decide. Shortly after placing my order my girlfriend decides what she wants and at this moment another bartender comes up to ask what we would like. I simply ask for a jack and coke. My girlfriend points out that the girl bartender seems upset. In saying so the guy bartender comes up and tells us we should not order from two different bartenders. We were not doing this on purpose. My girlfriend did not know what she wanted therefore there was a delay. I knew what I wanted so I placed my order. When my girlfriend knew what she wanted the guy bartender asked if I needed anything and I told him what my girlfriend wanted. Then the girl bartender got upset like we did this on purpose. The male bartender then had the nerve to tell us "we should not order from two different bartenders". We did not do this on purpose we were simply trying to order a drink. We are paying customers that should not have been hassled like this. I am all about manners. We did not try to disrespect the girl bartender I was just trying to get a drink when my girlfriend decided. When she did decide a different bartender asked if we needed anything and I relayed my girlfriend's drink. We did not mean to cause a scene. I just wanted a drink but they made it seem like we were doing something wrong. I will not go back to this place ever again. It's a joke.
