Pay Attention Darden! Consistency in food is missing at most chain restaurants…We recognize brand names because we are beaten to death with marketing messages so when we see a place we recognize, marketing gravity pulls us towards the brand; like zombies, naturally pulled towards humans... Unfortunately, when I try the same brands in different geographical areas, it is not the same experience. I have been a regular at this Olive Garden but the service and food quality varies drastically. For instance, the Minestrone would be thick this time and watery another time. The potato soup, Zuppa Toscana, would always come without potato chunks. I present to you the Spicy Calabrian Chicken sandwich that I ordered on May 13 (see pic); both buns perfectly burnt to a crisp! In addition, I do not recall ordering the buns well done. I wonder what they were thinking in the kitchen when they burnt my sandwich. Instead of throwing these buns in the trash, they decided to serve it hoping it would go to an unsuspecting schlub. Other entrees like Chicken Marsala, Chicken Parmigiana, Chicken and Shrimp Carbonara, and a few more lack consistency; the same entrée may have the right visual but different taste. Another thing that really burns my buns (pun intended) about this location is the amount of time it takes to get your food. Logically speaking, you go to a restaurant when you are hungry and you hope to get your food within a reasonable amount of time. It took us 45 minutes to get our food (just 3 simple entrees), the restaurant was not packed, and there were issues with it…I ended up not eating my improperly prepared sandwich after I took the first bite. My son got meat sauce instead of marinara and his grapes were visibly stale. The salmon, my wife’s entree, was cooked properly, so, we ended...
Read moreThis is the second time I've had a bad experience with the Olive Garden ToGo, WILL NOT BE USING AGAIN AND TELLING EVERYONE I KNOW.The first time my food was sitting in a bag At the bar for 20 minutes, The host never checked, my food was cold and break was wasted. This time I Ordered online said it would be ready by 3:30, we show up at 3:30 on the dot to pick up lunch and tell the host, who's talking to her friend more than doing her job,we're here to pick up the food. When I give her our name she says okay I'll tell you when it's ready meanwhile there's a crate of food sitting next to her at the counter (that she didn't check the name on) 10 minutes go by and I ask her should I pay now or when the food is ready, she says "when the food comes out" then 5 minutes after a man comes out, asks what we were waiting for, I say the name on the order and he says it's right here! As in it was SITTING THERE THE WHOLE TIME! Then the man tried to say it's because the host was "on a phone call" In the 15 minutes we waited she may have gotten 1 phone cal but she was mainly talking with another host or server. Never will I ever eat here or recommend it THEY WASTED OUR WHOLE BREAK, WE GOT COLD FOOD AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN APOLOGIZE JUST MADE FAKE EXCUSES! We often look for places with lunch menus in the area to go on break, this...
Read moreI had a mixed feeling about our recent visit. We visited Olive Garden in Clermont on Saturday, December 2nd. The initial seating process was swift, which we appreciated. However, our dining experience took a bit of a downturn when it came to service.
Our waitress, I think her name was Tatiana, took quite a bit of time to approach us for our order. Luckily, once we placed our order, the food came out promptly and as always, it tasted great - the Olive Garden standard we've come to know and love.
Where we experienced a significant issue was with a simple request for more salad. After a long wait, it seemed our order was forgotten. Despite reminding our waitress, the salad only arrived when we were ready to leave. This was a disappointing lapse in service, especially considering the restaurant wasn't particularly busy at the time.
I believe our waitress may have been having an off day, as she appeared to struggle with organization. As the evening progressed, the restaurant started to get busier, but our initial visit was during a quieter period, so the delay and confusion were puzzling.
Despite this hiccup, I must emphasize that the food was up to par and we usually enjoy our visits to Olive Garden. I hope this was a one-time issue and look forward to better service on...
