I would give their furniture department NEGATIVE stars if it was possible. I purchased a mattress in 2021 and it was delivered in 2022. We began experiencing issues several months after receiving the mattress. The Sales rep that sold me the bed told me " If you have any issues, you come to me, don't call the number because I will make sure I will get you taken care of" however when i went to her mere weeks after the return period from when the transaction took place, she proceeded to just show me the return policy that was in a laminated plaque instead of try to see what she could do. She also tried to diagnose me as a doctor in which I completely told her she was not a doctor, and was not welcome to evaluate me or offer medical advice as she was not certified to do so. Hindsight - we could have fought the return policy then, because we did not receive the actual product for MONTHS after "purchasing" the product. BUYER BEWARE. if you buy a mattress and decide to exercise your right to return it under "defective" 10 year warranty, they will make you buy a new mattress in which the cost will be nowhere near what you paid for it previously, and then IF they find something defective with it, they will refund your money AFTER deducting a restocking fee. WHO PAYS A RESTOCKING FEE on a warranty return ? We surely don't pay restocking fee on defective products with our cars !! When I filed a complaint against them, they made false allegations that they actually reached out to me via phone and e-mail and I show nowhere that either kind of communication was SUPPOSEDLY ATTEMPTED. In closing, Sealy/JC Penneys 10- year warranty isn't really a warranty, and make sure if you don't like the mattress - tell them to come and pick it up WAY Before your return period expires and by the love of anything holy - DO NOT use the crusty old blonde representative in the mattress department - she is the EPITOME of a sales rep that will tell you ANYTHING to make the sale. Guaranteed i will NEVER buy a bed from this...
Read moreEverything and everyone that works there maybe BANKRUPTCY would help to revamp the entire company. You don’t even deserve a one star after what you put an elderly man through. With all the lies! I was being passed from person to person on the phone. So everyone is a supervisor? On Thursday, October 23 I made an online order for a sale item. On Friday October 24, my elderly husband went to pick up the order. The order was in someone else’s name and I called the store. I spoke to Jasmine and was promised that my order was there and it would be held as long as we needed it. On Saturday, October 25 my husband returned to the store only to be told that the woman’s bag that we had was given to the other woman by the name of Caroline. Now we’ve wasted gas going back-and-forth to the store and all I was told was that I would get the order shipped free of charge after the other woman returned the items meant for my husband or I would have to get a refund. Which means I would lose out on the promotion and disappoint my husband on a surprise gift. No wonder why JCPenney stores are declining while other stores like Kohl’s and Walmart are thriving with full parking lots. I feel again that I was lied to, and that some type of ageism has occurred because no one cared about him and his order all they cared about was getting back the incorrect order. Also the incorrect order I received had four pair of XXL bottoms in the bag when I ordered large (L). How could those two sizes be confused? There is so much more that took place and not enough...
Read moreI went with my mother on Friday night to return some pants. They were never worn and had the tags still attached. Unfortunately we couldn’t find the receipt and the sales associate was unable to find the order using either of our phone numbers.
We were fine with a store credit but she said it would be based on the “clearance” price which was $10. I said wow when were they selling these for $10 because I would have stocked up. They were purchased for $29.99 on sale and it’s the lowest I’ve ever seen them sell for. She said they have never been sold for that price but without a receipt that is the “clearance” price which isn’t the lowest selling price and that’s just what you get without proof of purchase.
Unfortunately we were in a hurry and there was a line behind us so we did it for the $10 because they didn’t fit and couldn’t be worn. When we got home and looked at JCPenney’s return policy without a receipt posted on their website is says “Returns without a receipt may be eligible for a JCPenney Merchandise Return Voucher at the item’s lowest selling price within the last 45 days.” It doesn’t not mention some arbitrary “clearance” price that they were never sold for.
We will definitely keep our JCPenney’s receipt going forward knowing how hard it was but I’ll be thinking twice about shopping at this location. The sales associates doing returns should be trained knowing the...
