I made a 7:30pm reservation for Valentine's Day a week prior for hubby and I and this was our first visit. We were greeted by the beautiful hostess and provided a seat. She told us that once a booth opened up, she would gladly move us. No problem. Our waitess was very nice. She got us waters right away. I could tell it was a little slow, but no worries. That was until I looked at the time and noticed it was 8:07pm and our drinks hadnt reach the table yet. Hubby and I started looking for an alternative and 3 minutes later, we just left. As hubby was walking to get the car, the hostess jetted out after him, caught up with him, and told him our food was coming up soon and she was apologetic. We decided to come back in and sit. The drinks came up about 3-4 min later. And the Suya probably came about 7 min after sitting down. A booth became availabe and my husband reminded our waitress about us moving and they jumped on it. The night turned around, the food was good. But once we got the bill, we seen a 20% gratuity fee already added to our bill! There was an asterisk that says gratuity is added if there's a party of more that a certain number of people! It was only 2 of us! We are great tippers, but I like to write in the amount and would've likely not given a 20% tip. This was my first visit, so maybe that's how things need to go to ensure tips are left, but as a consumer, having my own experience, I would have liked the opportunity to write in my tip. This method allows for service to be subpar and the restaurant still gets a tip when tips used to be given at any amount for...
Read more12/10!! Absolute banger!!! Firstly, Primo African Quisine is positively an intimate setting. Primo is a little tucked away hidden treasure waiting to be discovered in an area that makes it feel very private and relaxing yet exciting and invigorating all at once. We started with the Suya and Pomme Lyonnaise. Both absolutely mouth watering. I highly recommend treating yourself to the Primo Salmon salad. Will not disappoint. Then we had Carre D'angneau with Egussi soup and Attieke. Fallowed by the most delicious Jarret D'agneau with Diallo and a steaming bed of beautiful Jollof rice. Now when I say that the pallet of mere mortals are undeserving of such a meal crafted specifically for the gods of Mount Olympus its legitimately an understatement Also, they have the most attentive, friendly, and welcoming staff. We wanted for nothing during our entire visit. Literally our every desire and whim was sated. It was like unbeknownst to us they were somehow observing fufuture and knew exactly what we wanted and needed even before we did! I know I'm making light of it, but in all seriousness, plan any and all of your special occasions or, more importantly, romantic dates at Primo African Quisine. They'll assist in charming that special to the point they'll squeal with delight. and I guarantee you will be in for a memorable evening. You most assuredly can take that to the bank. RUN!!!! DO NOT WALK to Primo African Quisine as soon and as often as your body is physically capable...
Read moreThe room is beautiful and the owner is pleasant. We went for brunch on a Sunday perhaps we were too old for the experience and thought we would be able to converse with one another throughout our meal however that was a mistake so if you just wanted to take someone somewhere and not be able to talk to them I suggest you go there the loud driving beat of the music was ridiculous especially for a Sunday brunch if it had been cut to half or a third perhaps it would have been a better experience. We did not eat off of the brunch menu which was a mistake evidently because our food was not seasoned at all and considering that we were after what we thought would be an African experience with regards to different seasonings spices we received none of that the only thing that was seasoned enough were the fries so if you don't want to go wrong with that order the fries and be happy. The owner did ask what we thought and we were honest about it I think that he really didn't appreciate it very much but he did say that he had cut the seasonings to fit the clientele because they were complaining about things being too spicy we suggested that he should remain true to himself and like any other place if you don't like the food you won't eat there but someone else will. I highly doubt that we will return to this establishment because I honestly don't believe he will change or...
