⭐okay, get comfy, and enjoy this detailed review, suggestions for improvement at the end as well⭐ 🌃 Atmosphere: Coltons social house is fun and inviting the moment you walk into the seating area, they have fun bright colors, and for bigger parties they have private booths with a curtain for privacy but the there is no roof so air can move in and out with ease. All the lights go on at night, and they have music playing outdoors. I would recommend this place for family and for a first date. They have tons of drink options to accompany the food they offer. ❗The. Food. Here. Was so fresh and delightful. They didn't have the bus bar open and thats where some of the social issues was comming from for them. They sat me and the other 2 people in my party at a metal style lunchroom table with attached chairs. They did have an umbrella with the table but the table was on a slanted hill, and the umbrella kept moving on its own, making shade impossible for 2 people, so we were in the sun for a bit. 🍅We ordered the fresh gauc and salsa with their house made chips. The chips were fresh, crispy and hot! However they needed more salt or seasoning and there was not salt or pepper offered or provided. There was also an abundance of dip, and hardly enough chips for 3, maybe 2 people but thats cutting it for what you pay for an appetizer. There was also a tomato sticker in our salsa and... it wasn't gross but be more careful? At least we know our food is fresh I suppose. 🍔I ordered a social house comfort burger with the mac and jalapeños, with a spicy spread (that how the burger comes), and IT was delicious! But so so spicy, they need a spice warming next to it because.. omg. I order the onion rings with my burger and they were battered thinly and crisp, what was great, they were not overly battered and fried to make them super thick and overly crunchy like other places. 🌮my other 2 people accompanying me ordered shrimp tacos, a simple burger, sweet potatoe fries with a cinnamon honey dip, and garlic fries. Out of all 3 starch sides, the clear winner was the garlic fries. Pay extra for them they are amazing. If you don't like Garlic I highly recommend the sweet fries with the honey cinna. dip, comming in at a close second, the dip made it so sweet and delectable offsetting the savory sweet potatoe fri. 📌Over all, this place gets a great solid 4/5 stars. Our sever lebeon (im so sorry for buterching the spelling) was attentive and a wonderful host. She had personality and offered recommendations and helpful hints when ordering. The patience with her was wonderful, when giving us time to read and look over the menu. The Food was fresh, served quickly and made to our likeness. ⚠️SUGGESTIONS/ IMPROVEMENTS⚠️ 1.) Try to avoid putting your tables on really uneven ground and instead of beer coasters as a leaving agent for the tables, get some quick set pavement or sandbags. These can be found at little cost at any hardware store and looks more professional then a stack of coasters. 2.) Serve. More. Chips. Tortillas and flour are quick and inexpensive. Serve more chips depending on the amount of people in party, or even enough to match the dip that was bought with the appetizer. It could even be a good idea to maybe do "bottomless" chips for the price of a simple appetizer. 3.) PAY ATTENTION to detail. Im calling out the chefs this time, our waitress knocked out of the park with service and could have been blamed for this. Have your cook staff look more carefully for things that do not belong in the food, especially when pouring into individual cups to serve. It doesn't hurt to do a quick inspection before its handed...
Read moreI've been to Colton's Social House in Sierra Vista Mall, Clovis, CA, a few times now, and I wanted to share my thoughts on it. My first visit was during COVID-19 when they had set up outdoor seating. It was really nice back then – the service was friendly, the vibe was great, and I remember enjoying their drinks a lot.
The inside of the restaurant has a cozy and welcoming feel to it too. I liked their color scheme and the whole social club atmosphere they're going for. It's more about relaxing and hanging out than just eating, which I really appreciate. The server I had was super attentive and quick, even though they were helping other customers too.
My second and most recent visits were during lunchtime. It wasn't too crowded, and I got seated right away. They have this QR code for the online menu, but they also offer a paper menu. Honestly, the QR code was a bit of a hassle to use. It took me a while to get it to work, and even then, navigating their website wasn't the easiest. The paper menu was a bit confusing too – it wasn't very clear what was an appetizer and what was a main dish.
I ordered an Old Fashioned, which was really good and smooth. I had a bit of trouble deciding on what to eat, but I eventually went for the Taquitos Ahogados for my appetizer and the Clovis Rodeo Burger as my main. I asked for my burger to be cut in half – it's less messy that way and I can check how well it's cooked.
However, both my appetizer and burger came out at the same time, which was kind of annoying. I prefer to enjoy them separately. The burger was overcooked – I asked for medium, but it came out well done. I let the server know, and they were quick to fix it. The taquitos were tasty and the seasoning was spot on, but they were a bit too crunchy for my liking, like they were over-fried.
When my remade burger came out, it was cooked right this time, but they missed some of the sauces, like the chipotle sauce that was mentioned on the menu. I didn’t bother sending it back again, but it was a bit disappointing. The burger was okay, but not having all the toppings kind of took away from the experience.
Overall, my experiences at Colton's haven't been the best. I keep going back because it's close to my office, but considering the price and the issues I've had with my food, I'm not sure I'd give it...
Read moreWe had a new waitress to start off with and she was excellent. However, after she took our food and drink order she was sent home and told us someone else would be taking over our table. However, after 20 minutes of no one coming to us it was quite clear we weren’t getting a new waiter. They brought us our food and we didn’t have any utensils. We waited some more and I finally asked a female waiter for a fork and she never returned 15 minutes later. I then proceeded to ask a gentleman waiter and he returned 5 minutes later saying that they had no clean silverware! Are you kidding me?!? If I would’ve known that I wouldn’t have ordered the salmon. I then got fed up my food was extremely cold and I just ate it with my hands. I got a fork but not until I was 90% of the way done. My boyfriend then asked a random server if we could get refills and he explained the the server how we were being ignored and how no one was helping us. Thank goodness for your server Lee. Lee apologized for everything that had happened to us and said that no one was assigned to our table once the girl server we had prior left. What left me shocked was the faceted that Lee said it was only there third day...how come a new employee can take the time to actually helps us when all these other employees are just walking by us ignoring us. Thank you Lee for taking the time to help us we really appreciate it!
As for the actual food itself it was amazing. I really enjoyed the Brussel sprouts, Salmon, and the lemon raspberry cheesecake that Lee had recommended to me. If it weren’t for Lee I would’ve asked for management because the service we received last night was...
