My family and I were here last week and I am just now getting to write my review. We had a terrible experience. Both the front end till guy and the older gentleman were very rude. My husband went to order a cheesecake sundae and the till guy snapped at him, immediately saying they didn't have cheesecake. The guy in the back asked him to check, but we were never told if they did so my husband ordered something else. I went to order a browine sundae and the older gentleman in the back shot out, "we don't have brownies". After that the rest of our family ordered, but took a little bit. During this time the guy in the front was on his phone...while we were deciding what to order. The gentleman in the back took a minute to apologize for being rude and said that the people who closed last night didn't do anything and they were trying to catch up.
Once everyone ordered and we paid, the till guy made a comment, "we are trying to catch up...but people keep coming in." To our face like we shouldn't have came in to order and we were being an inconvenience.
As he started to make our ice cream, we noticed he was making my husbands with cheesecake that we were under the impression they did not have. We ended up paying for both, but only needed one of them. I didn't ask for a refund, I just asked my husbands second order to not be made to not waste it and I got a lot of attitude for this.
When the younger guy went to make mine, which was changed to a hot fudge sundae and he yells across the room that they are out of hot fudge but could do chocolate. By now we had paid and everyone else had ice cream. I asked if I could have it replaced with something else and he said yes. As I was deciding the younger one came up to me with vanilla soft serve in a waffle cone. I asked what it was and he said its what I wanted. I never asked for that and hadn't even said what I wanted. I told him so and he visibly got upset. He demanded what I wanted, I picked a scoop from the case. He slammed open the case, threw the ice cream in, slammed the case back open gave it to me and walked away.
I understand being behind from the night before, what I cannot understand is the immediate rudeness and disrespect. One person apologized, but then the lack of customer service, being kind and not being rude continued. If we ever make our way back to the area we will not be...
Read moreI've been coming here for years and have held out on writing a review in hopes that this place's kinks would work themselves out. However, I think it's been long enough.
I'll start with the ice cream.
It's really not anything special and honestly a bit overpriced for what it is. I asked about the price one time and they said it was because that's just how much the ingredients cost. Considering there are many places in the area with lower prices and much better ice cream, I don't see how that is an excuse. I understand profit margins and the need to make money on what you sell but it seems to me they need to find a better source for their ingredients. Milkshakes have also gotten smaller recently but they still charge the same price for them. Oh, and they won't even give you a lid for your shake!
Now for what most people I know don't like about this place... The service!
A few of the girls who work here are very nice and I have nothing but admiration for the way they interact with customers. Some new employees still have some learning to do but are not an issue at all. The main issue here is the Cocoa Beach Ice Cream Hut franchise owner/manager and his son. Every single time I or anyone I know enters this store they are greeted with an air of annoyance and borderline disdain by these two. Rarely are you greeted with even a hello and never a smile. Most of the time it's a "what do you want," or just an impatient look. It's like you've just walked into their castle and now you, the peasant, are bothering the kings. The son used to just seem bored all the time and would scroll on his phone in the back but has slowly become just like his father. Anytime you ask for something they have run out of (but is still listed on the menu) they tell you they don't have it and look at you like you are stupid for even asking and when you ask for something else, they act like it's the biggest inconvenience possible. Oh, I'm sorry I'm asking you to do your job. These two discredit any good service provided by the other employees and cast a shadow on customer service in the United States.
I think today was the last time I will be visiting. I kept trying to give these guys more chances and won't stop hoping for the best but I fear as long as these two are here, I cannot recommend this place to anyone or even go...

I got a donut with the ice cream and she was out of fudge syrup, the donut was stuck in the container, she had to put the donut in the microwave for 30 seconds to make it soft, and I tasted like sausage, it was disgusting. I know this is probably not the managers fault, but spend less money on the murals outside and spend more money on supplies. My little brother asked for a cookies and cream ice cream on a cone, and right after the lady said, “you want vanilla?” He got marshmallows with his ice cream and the marshmallows tasted like fruit loops because they put the marshmallows in the same container where they stored the fruit loops without cleaning the container. He said the cone tasted disgusting and he threw his away. I threw mine away as well. My parents were gonna get a pumpkin pie shake, but they were also out of pumpkin pie, so they got a mint shake and she put in chocolate ice cream, not mint ice cream in a mint shake. Then she squirted a little mint thing to add the mint. Then she put in some chocolate chips. They both tried it and said it was disgusting. They also threw away their treat. The lady was impatient and rude. They were out of bananas, pumpkin pie, and she said she couldn’t open the chocolate syrup, and she said “trust me, you don’t want the chocolate syrup.” We all threw away our treats. Bad staff, bad food, spend more money on appliances...
