Monroe's is a hidden gem. My wife and myself has lived in Loveland now for about 6 years and we love eating out in new, different and unique restaurants in our area. For some reason, we always forget about Monroe's. That's because it's in the Best Western Plus off of Hwy 34 and I-25. So this past Saturday night after I got off from work, I suggested that we go out and try Monroe's for the 1st time. We knew they usually had nightly specials. Saturday was Surf & Turf Night. Plus, it was Karaoke Night. When we arrived, all you had to do is walk into the front door of the Best Western Plus and the entrance for Monroe's is directly to the right. Once inside we noticed the atmosphere was a cozy, pleasant and elegant. There was a gentleman playing a guitar and singing some nice relaxing music. Even though you'll have to seat yourself. We were greeted and welcomed as soon as we sat down. We were explained the nights specials and drinks. Our Waitress/Server Tammie was very knowledgeable of the menu and what it offers. We asked about several items and entrees on the menu and she gave us some good suggestions. So, my wife got the Saturday Surf & Turf Special (which comes with a 8oz Ribeye & 4oz Lobster Tail) She choose sauteed asparagus and their House made Beer Cheese Soup as her 2 sides. And I got the Colorado Ribeye, it's a 12oz USDA Choice Steak topped with blue cheese, sauteed onions and mushrooms and veggies. I choose the sauteed green beans and the house made Chili with no beans. While we waited for our main course, my wife ordered the Bacon Bloody Mary and I ordered the Lush Life drinks. They were quite tasty and "On Hit". Kudo's to Matt, our Bartender. Then came out our soups. Oh My Goodness! The Beer Cheese Soup and the Chili was "Da Bomb Diggity Delicious"! WOW! We would order those next time as a main course with we could in bigger bowls. We couldn't stop raving over them. Also while I was waiting for our entrees after I finished my Lush Life Cocktail, I order a tall Colorado Bull Dog. Yep! Yep! It was "YUM-O"! Then behold, our entrees came out. Oh My! They looked and smelled delicious. The Surf & Turf was done on que. My Colorado Steak was looking good, until I started cutting into it. There was a lil to much fat/marbling than I expected. So Duane the Executive Chef came out and explained the situation, then He suggested that he cook me another Ribeye Steak. We had a long conversation and he's quite humbling in what he does there at Monroe's. And "OH YEAH" it came out "Perfecto"! We both enjoyed our meals and had a good time. We were there long enough to have the Whiskey Wiggle Cake, while we watched and listen to all the folks that sung for Karaoke. Overall, it was a wonderful outstanding very delicious experience. And we will be back and recommend everyone to go out and indulge themselves...
Read moreBelow is the response I got from my review of dinner at Monroe's. It was very poor and obviously a canned response. As I mentioned in my review, WE ARE THREE LOCALS - we dined in, we didn't stay. Did anyone actually read my review and comprehend it? Also below that is my review. What a joke!

MY REVIEW:
Filet Mignon
1/21/2023 Unfortunately, our experience was not the best. We are three locals who chose to come out to Monroe's for the "upscale dining" and cocktail experience promised on the website...I wonder if the bartender really knew how to make any cocktails, as our margaritas were less than stellar and we were not offered a cocktail and/or wine menu....asked about coffee and told they could get some from the hotel lobby...the mozzarella wedges were good enough, but the onion rings and fries had a strange, smoky taste to them....The burger was average, the salmon and asparagus were okay. The $29 filet was over cooked, having ordered med-rare....When it was mentioned to the server, she let the bartender and know. The bartender then came over and ended up taking the steak off the bill. The excuse was the filet had been frozen and didn't have time to thaw, so the cooking was extremely overdone trying to compensate for that...Why is a $29 filet frozen? And why would they not be thawed by the time the dining room opened? Supposed to be 8 oz but definitely was not... The atmosphere felt less than upscale, and while our server was attentive, nothing made us feel like sticking around for another drink or dessert...What a disappointment...Lack of concern or care for those who walked in...
Read moreWe enjoyed the booth that we sat in very much because it was a very private booth. We ordered onion rings. They were amazing. They came with a case of though that did not have much flavor. My friend ordered the wings and I had one and it was very good. It was a sweet and spicy one. The beer prices are excellent. The only negative was our server mistook the money that I put in the credit card folder. I put in a $10 bill and my credit card and wanted the $10 bill applied to my bill. However, I'm not sure if I told her that but she did not ask. She immediately put the $10 bill into her tip jar on a $14 charge and then charged my card $14 I think. Hoping I would just sign it then. Also adding a 20% tip. The tickets are interesting because there's just little boxes you don't write in how much you want to tip you Check a box so I would have been tipping over 100% and I think I should have been asked because that seems obviously high since we barely saw her. She was cute and sweet but I think she tried to do a sneaky trick on me. We will go back, and see how we are treated, and I will change my...
