The service was good. I really like the salsa bar. But the food and drinks were not good at all. And the food prices and portions are, well, I'll post a Pic!
The food had no flavor at all. I ordered fish tacos and it was the worst I've ever had. It didn't taste horrible, it literally tastes like NOTHING. No flavor, no season. I brought it home and added mango salsa from a other local restaurant and salsa Verde packets from Taco Bell, fresh lettuce and seared the fish with a little seasoning to make it edible. The rice and beans were okay, but you get kid meal serving sizes, spread on the plate to make it look full. The margarita tasted like pre made, bottled, store brought mix with NO alcohol. Ordered a shot of Lunazul to try to enhance it. Helped a bit, but when I received the receipt I was charged for Patron. The Server told me Patron and Lunazul are the same price!?!?!?!? A LITER of Lunazul in the store is barely over $20. No way would I pay nearly $10 for a shot. Definitely not on the same shelf as Patron. If it costs the same as Patron, why not offer Patron??? I didn't fuss nor debate the food nor prices. I still left 20% tip. Needless to say, I will never return. But try it for yourself if you like high prices and...
Read moreNice clean, well lit establishment with ample seating for about 60-70 plus outside seating.
You will sit to tortilla chips and a bean dip sauce. It's a nice change to the regular red sauce of blah. Their bean sauce, I liked (and I'm not to fond of beans).
Drinks: Horachata was great, and the glass was sized for a Viking.
Arrow con Pollo: They did their own tasty twist with grilled thin slices of chicken on a bed of rice and cheese, and a corner of Lettuce with a home-made sauce (cucumber based I think). Really loved it.
Fajita Enchiladas has this (seems like) a mile long fajita that contains chicken, steak, onions, bell peppers, zucchini, and refried beans on a bed of enchilada sauce,, with a side of rice and lettuce. Wife thought it was really good.
We'll have to come back and bring more hungry friends.
NOTE: Their Carne Asada con Papas actually includes French fries (papa fritas). Slight disappointment there, but it was tried and locals like the French fries instead.
Sadly, my server did not speak Spanish 😞 The manager and supervisors did though 😃 They'll check on you a few times to ensure all went well within your...
Read moreMy husband and I have been to Papa’s and Beers in Asheville many times. It is terrific. We saw Brother’s and Beers while we were in Columbia and thought we would try it. We went on a Saturday night about 7:50pm. Not very busy. There were lots of open tables. We saw our waiter when he sat us, brought our food and then the bill. I had to stop him to ask if my drink was really what I ordered. The drink was awful. He didn’t seem to care and walked away. I tried to drink it, but left most of it there. The food was so so. Nothing special. Not awful, but not as good as other places for sure. My shrimp tacos were not as described and the order came with 3 on the menu. I was given 2 which turned out fine as they were just not that good. I had been excited to visit here as we make runs to Columbia often, but we were disappointed. We left the customary tip which is low for us. If we have good service and good food then we tip well. The fastest we saw the wait staff move was to clear a table and get the tip. We did get to see them sitting at a table eating and talking…a lot. Unfortunately, we...
