Growing up,Rush’s was apart of our family, especially the Harbison location. We grew up there. Met so many wonderful employees and my mom was even considered the “official coffee taste tester” back in the day.
I remember many night outings just me and my Dad going to get a milkshake and talk about our day or week. He was known by so many there as the man in the yellow Camaro that would order a “coffee with a side order of milk” which would later be delivered to my Mom. Their love and dedication to each was undeniable.
We lost my Dad back in 2013. The night we lost him, we left the hospital and went to the West Columbia Rush’s to honor him as difficult as it was. I remember not being able to eat but just being there, I seemed closer to him because we remembered the love he had for Rush’s and all the memories made there over the years.
I now live states away with my own little family. When I visit, I always go to Rush’s and order 2 milkshakes. 1 strawberry(extra blended like Dad liked) and an Oreo. I go up to our old Church near Lake Murray to “share” a milkshake with him at his grave.
On my recent visit back in April, my Mom called Rushs up at 9pm checking to see if they were still open and to let them know I was coming to order “our” milkshakes. Lol As silly as that sounds. The staff was so wonderful. The manager in charge paid for our milkshakes in honor of my Dad.
Rush’s will always be apart of my childhood memories and better yet apart of who I am. Not only did I make amazing memories there but met some of the most amazing individuals. I grew up knowing Mrs. Carrie at the Harbison location. She truly became apart of our family as well as several others! I thank you Rushs for always sticking to the classics and giving some of the best customer service. I only wish you would open shop a few states North…believe me, my family and I would be very frequent customers! 💙 Thank you Rushs for always making our experience...
Read moreIm going giving 3 out of stars JUST BECAUSE the food was fresh and the cashier was nice however, she didn’t eat meat, cole slaw, drink ice tea or soda so she was unable to help with the menu! Tiktok made us do it by saying it’s “the best food in town “ even though we did not taste any other spots, we have to agree to disagree!! We ordered chili cheeseburger added bacon, bacon cheeseburgers basket (include fries and Cole slaw) slaw dog with everything, and 3 piece chicken (breast, wing, thigh) no flavored drinks, just water! Okay honestly, the burger is just a regular burger nothing special at all! It’s fresh I didn’t even taste the bacon on it. Fries were fresh. Cole slaw was not good, Very runny and too sweet! Husband said chili cheese burger was 2/10 because it was fresh and not messy, chicken was okay! Nothing to rave about! I guess because it’s cooked fresh. The chicken was lacking season, breast was dry and thick, thigh was juicy but unflavored, wing small! They gave us vinegar to go with the fries, an EPIC FAIL! I will never do that again, YUCK! And I LOVE VINEGAR! Overall, Issa no to for me! Maybe if you work around and just wanna grab a quick fresh burger then it’s your spot! Didn’t get a chance to try the desserts but definitely give it a try and see what your taste buds say!!! Paid 30 plus, for 4 different meals, not the bad prices! It’s not the BEST but not the WORST! We gave it a 2/10……. On to...
Read moreWe were traveling from Charleston and on the way home we were about to go to sonic but decided to eat here since they had good reviews and we've never been here before. They were super packed so we expected it to be good food. We dined in and the cashier was super nice explaining everything to me since it was out first time here. My food and my sons was made wrong and I noticed after 2 bites it had mayonaise in it. I get sick if I eat mayo and it's worse now that I am pregnant. I had to wait in a long line just to ask for another bun and lettuce since I didn't want them to have to make it all over again. After getting my new bun and lettuce and scraping all the mayo off my burger, I had one more bite and just couldn't eat anymore. The mayonaise messed me up and my stomach was hurting so bad. The food was very mediocre, there was no great flavor or taste to anything. My kids didn't even like the food either and they didn't finish thier food. I honestly regreted eating here and don't think we'd ever go back. We should of just went to sonic. Cons: You have to wait in a long line of people ordering food just to get a drink refill. They say your order over a loudspeaker hoping that the cooks remember and make your order correctly which 9/10 times they will probably get it wrong like they did mine and my sons. This needs to be changed. Food has no flavor. Pros: The cashier was nice and the...
