Don't go to Myungrang on Short North, Come to Chung-Chun! These made me WANT to write a review. They taste just like the ones in Korea and the breading is perfectly soft and doughy on the inside and crispy on the outside.
The corndogs are made fresh and there are two wonderful ladies actively making all the menu items themselves so they require some time. They were so kind and helpful!
I ordered: the potato half mozz and half sausage corn dog(11/10) cupbokki (5/10) sausage and rice cake skewers(10/10) soy garlic fried chicken(5/10) *recommend dining in or eating them ASAP since they're fried and best eaten hot and fresh.
The cupbokki and soy garlic fried chicken are a decent side, don't expect them to be extraordinary as this place specializes in corndogs. The potato half & half corndog was amazing. Please don't be afraid to try your corndogs with sugar along with your usual condiments! The sausage and rice cake skewers surprised me, its a must try! The sauce is sweet and spicy, the rice cakes are pillowy and chewy and acts as a perfect buffer. It's a perfect balance of sweet and savory.
Overall, if you want to experience some cool new flavors and tasty food give it a try. I would...
Read moreWe ate here for the first time and I was thrilled by the menu selection, and of course the food itself! I usually take pictures of food to post for my reviews but I was so excited to eat that I ate a bit of everything before I remembered to take pics! I got the half Mozzarella, half hotdog of the original and ramen chips, tteokbokki, beef kimbap, and the yuzu tea and yuzu sparkling drink. The hot dogs were perfectly fried that the dough was crispy on the outside and perfectly chewy with the melted cheese. Then the savory beef hot dog at the end half was a delicious combination! The tteokbokki and fish cake was perfectly savory, spicy, and a hint of sweetness. The beef kimbap makes a perfect to go snack to have with you while you walk around (or for the car ride home). I loved the yuzu sparkling drink to refresh!
I'm so excited to have great and more authentic Korean food on...
Read moreI ordered the beef meal with kimchee, spring roll and dumpling. I love Korean and most Asian food in general so I had high hopes for this place. After what felt like a longer than normal wait I found the food the be decent but not as good as I had hoped. I thought the portion was a bit small for the $16 before tax price tag. I was expecting it to be noticeably better than the Chinese and Japanese places a few spots down the food court from it but tbh I didn’t think it was better and with the portions being a bit smaller I prob won’t get it again if those options are still available next time. I saw there was a review below that said they thought the food came out of the freezer. I should share that I could see someone making the hot dog items from scratch while another person prepared the meals so I’m quite sure all of it is being made on site that day or at least it...
