This is a really awesome coffee shop! The converted bank space is cool, but what makes it is the great food and friendly staff. The menu is very large and has something for everyone. A few words on everything I had over my visits: Spicy Sweet Potato Sandwich & Wasabi Ginger Hummus Sandwich: Tasty and creative vegetarian options (and can be made vegan if you remove the cheese)! The sweet potato sandwich in particular was really memorable - I loved how the cheese melted into the sweet potato mash. Both the sourdough and wheat breads were fresh and wholesome. Blue Cheese Slaw (side): I really enjoyed this different take on coleslaw! Tasty dressing and fresh, crunchy vegetables. Butternut Squash Parfait: Possibly the most I’ve ever enjoyed a yogurt parfait. Loved the mashed squash with cinnamon, and the nut topping went very well with it. Workout Scone: This contained dried fruits and nuts. I like baked goods with lots of “stuff” in them and this was very enjoyable. Topped with coarse sugar but the scone itself was not too sweet. Sweet Potato Biscuit: Fresh and fluffy, and very nice heated on the grill. Almond Toffee Pie & Coconut Pie: Both had a rich filling (especially the almond toffee) and a perfectly baked buttery crust. The toffee pie melted in my mouth and the coconut pie had large tender shreds of coconut which gave it a nice texture. The toffee pie was quite sweet, as you’d expect, but the coconut was a little lighter. Latte, Steamer, & Iced Americano : I had the latte with almond milk and amaretto syrup, the steamer with macadamia milk and butter pecan syrup, and the americano black. Their decaf espresso is great! I usually take my drinks without sweetener but couldn’t resist trying the different flavours they had, and was relieved that I could clearly taste the flavour without the drink being overly sweetened. Kombucha: They have kombucha on tap! I took the non-alcoholic but they also have an alcoholic kombucha. I didn’t ask what the flavour was, but it tasted like cranberry. On the sweeter side as far as kombucha goes, but not so much that it covered up the funky fermented taste (which is a good thing if you like kombucha). Everything was really great, and I always felt so welcomed by the staff. The service was very efficient - they kept things moving along even at the times when it got really busy, and they use a speaker to call when orders are ready so it’s easy to hear even if you’re not near the counter. If this shop were located where I live I’d be going...
Read moreOkay the first thing you have to know is that this used to be an actual bank. you can sit inside the old vaults which still have the old vault doors attached and enjoy your coffee or whatever eats you purchased. The next thing you need to know is that the coffee and all its various forms is fantastic. whether your traditional straight up black coffee drinker or you pick one of the many lattes or whatever else they have laying around there till I'm not much of a coffee drinker although I have tried several everything they make is fantastic. to complement your beverage of choice they have some really good muffins and sandwiches and other foods that you can purchase once again all excellent. The staff is always smiling super friendly if you have any questions more than willing to explain everything to you. There is plenty of seating inside and out it's kind of fun to sit outside and watch everybody go by and pet all the puppies which saunter on by. They do have Wi-Fi and of course it is free to customers and you will see quite a few people sitting there taking advantage of that including students because of course Columbus is a college town. The Iron Bank Coffee Company also course sells its own coffees. Prices are very reasonable you can go in and have a couple large coffees and a muffin or so and only have about a 10 $11 bill. this is a favorite hang out on the weekends for many Columbus people and visitors and definitely a favorite of my lovely wife Ellie and mine. I would highly recommend making it a stop when you're downtown in the...
Read moreI really like this spot! Super cute, lots of options. If I could make a few recommendations.
I believe there’s a ramp on the side for wheelchair users but long term maybe consider adding in one of those panels for that door where if you wave it opens. They have them in Houston everywhere and it increases accessibility for wheelchair users who can’t open the door and push themselves in. As someone who pushes a loved one in a wheelchair, opening the door while pushing can be hard. The bathrooms are up a set of stairs and so not really accessible for all but I don’t know if anything can be done about that construction wise. Lastly, they use clear plastic containers for to go stuff. This is common, but I (and a lot of younger people today) really really appreciate and support businesses that make a point to try and reduce plastic use. So maybe consider the sustainable thick brown paper to go boxed. Most have natural wax so wet food won’t leak through. Consider for to go silverware edible silverware or bamboo. These are things that make businesses a 12/10 to me personally.
Full disability accessibility for everyone and forward sustainable thinking.
They’re a 4.7 out of 5 for these reasons. Still great but if they implemented those changes it’d be above and beyond what other local businesses are doing
In a community full of disabled vets, disability accessibility is everything. They have ramp accessibility which is appreciated but there’s always room for improvement, even for awesome...
