Totally bizarre experience. I understand being short staffed, if that is the issue here, but this place is such a mess its not worth trying. Ordered two sandwiches. 30 minutes later the tracker was still stuck on "order received" so I tried to call. Called twice and no one picked up, so I called the main Jimmy John's customer service line. They couldn't reach the 5th Ave. store either so I asked to cancel my order. They sent a request to cancel to 5th Ave. An hour after I put in my order I get a call from 5th Ave. explaining that they were busy, they apologized, I said it was ok but I wanted a refund. Two hours after I put in my order I get a text saying my food has been delivered. I say that I cancelled my order. They say, that "its free then". I go to my porch and there is nothing there. I let the person know that they have the wrong house, or the wrong customer. They confirm my address. I tell them again that there is nothing on my porch. They stop responding. I don't want the food, but this is just insane. They can't make the food on time, they can't deliver on time (two hours!!) and they can't even deliver to the right house. Let's hope they can actually follow through with the refund. I haven't seen any evidence of...
Read moreI did not order a sub today. I went to order a regular size Vito and asked for onions and mayo on half. The cashier Daisy said she can't do it. Myself and the sandwich maker kinda laughed and asked why, (the sandwhich maker heard and was offering to just do it). She insisted she cannot because "there's no button"
I told her I was going to ask the company. She said this is a franchise and it is up to the individual owner and they cant do that.
If this is true, you guys are loosing out on money because you "can't ring in" onions on half of a regular sub. I have worked in the service industry for 12 years, this request is not hard to accomodate. My husband has autism and cannot tolerate the texture of onions. I didnt want to have to dismantle my sub and have all the lettuce fall off to put onions and mayo on myself.
I thought this is why we pay people to make food for us lol
Whoever the younger sandwich maker was, she was eager to accomodate. You should shout her out for actually wanting to be hospitable. This was Sunday May 18th at 12:59 pm that this...

The store is a bizarre environment. The employees clearly hate their jobs and that kind of even comes across as disdain towards customers--they won't really even want to acknowledge you're there or greet you. There appears to be no leader in the store at all. No one seems to know what's going on as customers pile up on the sidelines and the staff yell back and forth to each other only acknowledging each other.
They were making sandwiches but they were clearly not for anyone who was even in the store and were not even placed on the pickup shelves. Just a ton of sandwiches piled up in the corner whilst a ton of customers sat around the place waiting for their orders.
Also, yes, the phones are never picked up and you can't call them or corporate to cancel your order which never gets made so you have to drive down there just to cancel your order in person. Absolutely...
