Meeting Our Destiny at Mecha Noodle Bar
We were looking for a ramen place that had good food at reasonable prices, and while we had passed by Mecha Noodle Bar many times (with its signs saying its one's destiny to dine there), we had never stopped by until today, and we're so happy we did. It was our destiny to eat dinner at this Asian fusion restaurant. Our server, Geraldo S., was very attentive, kind, and professional. He made us feel at ease, was respectful, and very detail-oriented. He gave us great recommendations. I had the Spicy Miso 2.0, with recommendations from Geraldo, which made my meal even better. My husband had the Mala Stir Fry, and it was delicious with thick, tasty noodles.
As I ate my food, I saw a neon sign that read, "Enjoy Every Moment of Your Life," and it felt like I was at the right place at the right time. I had a challenging day, and seeing that reminded me of making the best out of what life gives me. Even if you have a hard day, you can still enjoy little moments like dinner. And enjoying my dinner made the rest of my day better.
We can't wait to go back for happy hour which has great deals for drinks and munchies. There are so many cool meals to try. I'm looking forward to having kimchi fried rice and more munchies. This place has great service and a variety of Asian dishes that will satisfy your cravings for Asian fusion food.
We are sure to come back to enjoy ourselves at Mecha Noodle Bar.

Read moreMecha Noodle Bar is at corner 2nd and High where a White Castle used to be. Quite a modern space now. Restaurant itself is very beautiful. They opened their glass walls to let in fresh fall weather. They have a bar and plenty of table seating…outdoors if you please. Chef/owner/founder Tony Pham was there to welcome us. Go to their website to read about Mecha and the folks here. They are very much into their food, but they also support social causes to help and return back to the community.
We ordered several cocktails, appetizers and entrees. See my pictures for additional info on the dishes.
Great work from mixologist Kim-Anh for preparing and chatting to us about the cocktails. I highly recommend the In My No Drinking Era (citrusy) as well as the Midnight in Saigon (espresso martini).
As far as food, my top recommendation will be the spare ribs followed by the Pho. Seriously, all the food we had were great. But what was REALLY great was the conversation with Chef Tony if you are lucky enough when he is there. There is something meaningful when the food you eat has some history to it.
Overall, it was a perfect lunchtime visit at Mecha. Checkout my recommended dishes/pics and chat with the folks there. They are more than happy to share not just their food, but...
Read moreVegetarian review! I appreciate how many options there are. The servers and chefs were very conscientious of vegetarianism and even mentioned to me that they are making sure there's no cross contamination. Our server, Bella, was super friendly and answered all of our questions. My gluten free friend also had options, and Bella made sure to double check the allergens for him.
The Thai tea and chai hojicha bubble teas (non spiked) are good, but the boba is dense and unpleasant to eat. My friends' drinks, the Iron Fist and One Bad Apple were really delicious.
The mushroom dumplings were very yummy. It's a soft filling instead of chopped mushrooms, with a sauce.
The vegetarian ramen was decent, the broth is bland but there's a spicy soy sauce on the table to add. Don't get the add on tofu, it's just two small cubes of unseasoned tofu. I added on an egg which was pretty good. Kind of expensive, I wish it came with more toppings for what it was.
My meat-eater friends were very happy with their food, so I think it's a good option for mixed diet groups. There wasn't a wait on a Saturday night which was nice. My meat-eater partner said her spicy miso ramen wasn't very spicy, for...
