I cannot stress enough how disappointing and downright awful my experiences at PBR Bar in Columbus have been. This was my second visit, and somehow, it was even worse than the first time, which had already left me in tears due to terrible service and outright rudeness.
First, the mechanical bull—a key feature of the bar—wasn’t even running. We decided to stay and have a few drinks despite this. Last call was announced at 1:30 AM, and the bar was supposed to close at 2 AM, which seemed reasonable. However, at 1:35, the DJ announced, “Alright, time to get the hell out. Don’t drink and drive, but you can sip and swerve.” This was not only unprofessional but incredibly inappropriate, especially when you’re encouraging people to grab a final drink moments before essentially kicking them out.
To make matters worse, security immediately began chasing people out—literally chasing us. My group was finishing up, grabbing our coats, and we were hurriedly followed by a security guard who looked ready to physically remove us, even though we were calm and respectful. Nearby, another group was also being pushed out, and when they protested about finishing their drinks, the security guard coldly replied, “I don’t care; you can finish it outside.” This level of aggression is absolutely unacceptable.
If that wasn’t bad enough, the women’s bathroom was a horror show. One stall was missing a door entirely, another had a wet floor littered with chunks of something unidentifiable, and the sinks were overflowing with discarded paper towels. It was, without exaggeration, one of the most disgusting restrooms I’ve ever encountered in any establishment.
It’s baffling that after being open for over nine months, this bar still hasn’t figured out basic cleanliness, decent customer service, or even how to handle closing procedures in a way that doesn’t feel hostile. PBR Bar had potential as a fun, unique concept, but this location is a complete disaster. I will never return, and I will actively warn others to avoid it...
Read moreI stopped in with a friend around 7:30 on a Monday night. The bar was empty, and we were greeted by a friendly but somewhat exasperated female bartender who admitted we were her first customers of the night. I ordered a canned Bud Light, and my friend ordered a 22 oz Blue Moon draft. After a few sips, we each had a whiskey shot and then started looking at the menu. The boastful GM, “Dean”, came over, made small talk, and unsolicited started giving us a history of background in the industry – focusing on his previous role as ‘executive sous chef’ for Forbidden Root – another bar at Easton. We ordered an appetizer. My friend spotted a cinnamon old fashioned on the cocktail menu and decided she’d prefer that instead of finishing her beer. Although we made clear we would still pay for the beer, Dean dismissed the request, saying he wanted us to “get some food in us first” before serving the cocktail. When we realized he was serious—despite my friend having consumed only a single shot and a sip of beer—we canceled our food order, paid for what we had, and left. Our bill for two well whiskey shots, one 22 oz Blue Moon, and one 16 oz Bud Light can was over $32. We left a $20 cash tip for the bartender, feeling bad that her manager had effectively chased away her only customers. In the end, we spent $52 for two shots and a few sips of domestic beer.
This place does not have much to offer. No customers, abbreviated food menu, high prices, egotistical and unfriendly management. While I recognize that bartenders and establishment management have the right to refuse service to anyone, and do have an obligation to make sure that customers are not overserved, our experience at this establishment suggests that management needs more experience managing this type of business for it to be successful. This was my first time ever being refused service at a bar. Essentially, we were cut off after only one well whiskey shot. Your hard-earned money should be...
Read moreLook for the #Bull. After dark the atmosphere is very high energy. You’ll have a blast, perfect vibe for Easton. The bartenders don’t look up sometimes when it’s busy, so order a double. Then go ride the #bull and don’t forget to bring your cowboy hat. They have VIP sections lots of screens for watching sports. I wish the guys would wear the chaps and the little shorts. It would even it out some. There’s cute girls, handsome guys and fantastic food. I’ve been since opening night and the guy barber at the entrance is the best. He’s attentive and your not sitting around waiting to be acknowledged even when it’s not busy I brought a friend here for St. Patrick’s Day. It wasn’t very busy and the back bartender she I don’t know she wasn’t attentive and my friend was like oh this is like the second time she’s been that way and it wasn’t even busy finally got service but then when we came back because the brisket is to die for whoever is cooking give them five stars and two thumbs up because they do a fantastic job. I’ve been here a few times and primarily for the food. The back bartender needs a little bit more customer awareness because even when the bar isn’t busy, she always seems like she’s like frantic or frazzled she’s the main one that works because I’ve been here three times and all three times terrible service. My friend was like let’s go move to the front bar where the guy bartender and he was like watch he’s gonna be on it and sure enough, he was anyway overall, it’s a great place. There’s plenty of parking and it gives a different vibe to Easton...
