Where to start, I took my wife on a hike to just spend quality time for our anniversary at the Concord Audubon society, and then decided on lunch I found nonnas place via Google never been before, will be back!! At first glance from the outside it doesn't look like much, as soon as you walk in its a different story the atmosphere is pure little Italian bistro. It was a slow Monday or at least the time of day we went it was slow and we had the dining room to ourselves. The waitress was extremely friendly and polite A+ service. We started with an appetizer of hand breaded mozzarella sticks and they were delicious, you could tell they make them in house and not some frozen fast food sticks. We placed our order all at once and had it staggard so we could enjoy the food at our own pace. My wife ordered the create your own pasta dish with linguine Alfredo sauce with broccolini and fried chicken, I have no doubt in my mind that they make the sauce in house and it was incredibly delicious. The chicken had a nice hand breaded crispy fry on it and cooked to perfection, this was also not previously frozen pre breaded chicken strips but it was a nice full chicken breast. I myself had the "Italian BLT",What a sandwich the bread was toasted up nicely with their herbed butter they used delicious prosciutto instead of traditional bacon with sliced tomatoes not diced and romaine lettuce. The flavors that sandwich had was pure perfection and I can honestly say any BLT I will have in the future will pale in comparison. My sandwich came with french fries and honestly there isn't much to say on that front aside from the fact they are hand cut natural fries cooked to perfect crisp levels otherwise known in the cooking world as GFB. I myself and a cook, I know good food and this is great food anyone considering to try nonnas place do so quickly!! I once again express my gratitude and complements to the cook that was working that day as you sir did a phenomenal job on making our anniversary day that much better with your excellent food.

If you’re looking for a spot that you can get fresh, made from scratch pastas, this is it! The atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired (no frills, dated), but the food makes up for it. For appetizers we had: mozzarella sticks, chicken parm egg rolls, and meatballs. All were delicious but the egg rolls and homemade meatballs were a favorite for my husband and I (the kids loved the mozz sticks of course!). Dinners: 🔸veal parm- the sauce is slightly sweet with fresh chopped garlic and small chunks of tomato in it 👌🏻 🔸pesto with shrimp- excellent homemade fresh pesto 🔸chicken broccoli alfredo- husband and I sampled from the kids’ plates. Perfectly cooked broccolini, light but flavorful alfredo! Dessert: cheesecake was delicious, gelato (not homemade but still very tasty), and cannolis-these were the only part of the meal we didn’t care for, they were heavy on the cinnamon and the ricotta texture was off, but the shells were crispy and fresh! They also had a nice looking brick oven for pizza, which we eyed several as they were served to others and it looked great. Thin, crisp and fresh. Will give the pizza a try in the future. Service lacked a little and was slow at times, and they forgot to make my toddler’s dinner. They whipped it up fairly quickly after we brought it to their attention. They do have a server wanted sign out front and I realize staffing times are tough right now, so we didn’t knock them much for this. Also plan ahead to bring your own high chair/booster seat. They don’t have high chairs and only have 1 booster seat which was already in use by another family. We unfortunately forgot to pack our portable high chair. Overall, my family rated it 4.3/5 ⭐️.

This is a great little Italian place. The food is excellent, perhaps the best Italian in Concord. My companion ordered "off menu" asking to change a signature dish with a different protein. The server was gracious and the chef accommodated in spectacular fashion. A light lemony sauce complemented beautifully. My Tuscan salmon was the evening's special dish with vegetables and served over risotto. The risotto was creamy but still had texture, just perfect. The dish had a plentiful cheese sauce that was velvety and accented wonderfully. The mussels appetizer also had a beautiful sauce and the grilled and buttered bread that accompanied it was a delightful touch. Yes, we even indulged in the dessert of fried raviolis with ricotta filling and a citrus garnish that showed chef's refined sense of pairing to please the palate. The clean, pleasant dining room and casual family atmosphere gave the meal a friendly, familiar feel that made the great food even better. If you want superb Italian without overly pretentious service, Nonna's is the place to go.

From the moment we walked in, we received terrible service. With two wait staff and a host, you would think a party of two wouldn’t be cause for alarm, but the host and one of the waitresses argued in the middle of the restaurant over who would get the table. The argument continued until we walked upstairs to the rooftop dining area. Once there, it took 20 minutes to get our drinks and another ten to get our water (all of which was ordered at the same time). We ordered an appetizer which was cold when it was served to us. When we ordered dinner, my girlfriend ordered a second glass of wine. It took over an hour to get a side salad and the glass of wine was never served; we were utterly baffled. No explanation was given on wait times, and we had seen many cars come and go with people getting takeout. When the waitress came to take the salad plate, we were very hungry, and asked for the food to be packaged to-go whenever it’s ready. The waitress brought the bagged food fifteen minutes later with no check. We asked for her to cash us out and followed downstairs to pay. When we got downstairs, we saw that there were only three other tables (we were the only table upstairs). While waiting to cash out, the host was squabbling with our waitress. Our waitress then tried to hand my girlfriend someone else’s credit card with their paid bill. My girlfriend had to give it back to her and tell her that this isn’t ours and we hadn’t even paid yet. While ringing us up, our waitress made a comment about taking the second wine off our bill because it hadn’t been drank, her tone was incredibly rude which was odd considering she was offering to remove something that we never received. When we got home with the food it was missing the garlic bread that the menu stated it came with.

We were there for an hour and a half and never received our food in a dead restaurant. Absolutely horrible customer service for average food. Staff needs seasoned leadership. We were excited to check this place out and unfortunately won’t be returning.

We understand that things happen, but the lack of acknowledgement or...

The good - the waitress was friendly and informative. The pasta itself was good. Not so good - the sauce (both red, and lemon chicken) and the incredibly aggressive owner. We had calamari, a pizza, and a pasta dish. I did not like the lemon chicken pasta, it happens. Not a big deal. I explained to the waitress that the sauce was not good; it lacked flavor and the consistency was like a cornstarch gravy, not a reduction sauce, and again, there was not much more than a very faint chicken flavor to the sauce. I was not upset nor did I complain. The owner came over and asked me to explain why I did not like it. I immediately felt he was upset and that the situation could escalate based on his demeanor. I said that it was just my preference, not a big deal, but thanks. He said "tell me why, I have to know, you have to tell me", I said "we are good, thanks", he continued, I responded that I had already explained to the waitress and that it was not a big deal. He said, "No. You have to tell me. I want to know. This is my restaurant, I need to know." At this point, I paused, looked at him and said "what do you believe I could say that would not cause further issue? I feel like you want to debate and I am not interested". He again demanded, now leaning on the table, about 18 inches from my face, and said "I am not debating. I want to know. I have 27 years experience and I want to know what about my food is not good enough for you. You have to tell me. I need to know". I did not answer. He repeated a similar statement. I did not answer. He then spoke a few sentences in Italian and said "what? you going to answer? can you speak English? Italian? What?" I responded "You are being very aggressive and I am uncomfortable. We are done". He then began to ask my son questions. We paid for the calamari and pizza. The owner was incredibly aggressive. I was uncomfortable, and later, quite angry. It was one of the oddest moments I have had at a restaurant but his repeated demands and aggression both spoke to something that felt more disturbing to me. This occurred...
