Wow... what an enjoyable experience! Let me tell you why I plan to return every chance I get... first - the environment. The second you walk in, you are greeted with open spaces, and the immediate feeling of cleanliness. Light colors; white chairs and tables, with light colored walls and tiled floor. If this place was not kept clean, you would know immediately... something I feel several restaurants in the area cannot match. Next comes the menu. Broad in reach, but not crazy big. Easily served fresh and quick, as a restaurant of this type should aim for. Not convoluted, but just enough variety to keep you guessing each time you order if you enjoy trying something new each time you visit. First is the chips and salsa. The chips are thin and salted, and the salsa is served in a mini pitcher to pour into your respective bowls. The salsa is chilled. I requested limes to compliment the chips and salsa. Next are the drinks. I've always judged a new Mexican restaurant on a few qualities... their environment, service, queso, and margaritas. Queso was affordable, tasty, but a bit runny. Their margaritas were bold, strong, pretty, and worth every penny. I recommend the traditional margarita with a Tajin rim. Next comes service. We were waited on by Jeff. What a charismatic, caring, and professional waiter he was. I will make sure I request him any time we go. When I ordered my entree, I requested Fresh jalapeños. He asked if i was sure I wanted fresh jalapeños. Well he returned shortly after with a suggestion of the Chile Toreado. Never heard of it. He insisted, so I agreed. It was a decorative plate of fresh jalapeños, halved longways, lightly fried and mixed with Tajin and Lime. WOW. What an amazing and unexpected treat. It definitely amped up my experience there. My main complaint was that the steak, chicken, and shrimp for the fajitas were tough and a bit overcooked. Our booth was filled with natural light, and also had a stone wall next to the walkway it was next to, which acted like a natural privacy barrier to the rest of the restaurant. Overall, I give this spot a 4.6 out of 5. They could improve their fajita meats a bit, but otherwise it was an awesome experience. If you go date night style with two people, expect to spend $50 easy, but closer to $80 with drinks and an app, not including the tip. Give it a visit and see...
Read moreI visited this place because my family had a 50% success rate with this restaurant, it was new, and it was in the place of our favorite restaurant- El Bosque. It really was not great.
my grandma decided to complain about to-go beef quesadillas she had 2 days prior during check in, which the host/manager didn't care. He only said "sorry." She ordered them because dine in, she thought they were great. But I am not my grandma, I am not rating on this. But maybe some bias?
I ordered cheese enchiladas dinner. It came with only red sauce on the enchiladas. I would have preferred gravy/onions, but thought why not. The red sauce tasted like pasta Ragú sauce. The cheese was not really melted and it was really sub-par. I ate it because of point 3.
2.5) I ordered a tamale on the side, but it only arrived after EVERYONE was done eating their food. I didn't even want it!! It was good, but hard to rate since I didn't get to eat it with a hungry mind and with the rest of my meal.
I ordered a skinny margarita, but much preferred the standard frozen margarita. Because I had alcohol, I was able to eat the ragú enchiladas. My husband thought the skinny margarita was okay, but it tasted watered down. We both preferred the standard, so don't order skinny margarita for $1 more. I usually get it because I don't like super sweet margs.
husband ordered carnitas plate. Yes, it was much better, but it tasted like oven roasted carnitas that you could make from a grocery frozen meal/kit. It was alright, but not worth the $15+ that it was.
Grandma ordered bean and cheese nachos. It was literally regular chips (not super toasted stiff nachos) with what looked like can beans and cheese on them. Looked comparable to stadium nachos.
queso is white queso, it was alright. I thought it needed salt.
Churros were a bit hard. Maybe bias as I had fresh churros a few days ago with chewy center and soft.
a lot of dishes didn't come with rice/bean and some only came with rice? You are charging $13+ on every dish, come on.
All together, nothing stood out. I really wish I had went to El Bosque. I wouldn't come back here and didn't care for the environment, the white chairs -everywhere, or the setting. Waiter was okay, but wasn't super personable until the end when he said "see you tomorrow, come see us tomorrow." I'm not coming...
Read moreWell first off I was hit by one thing that is extremely important to me. They did not have the entire place wreaking of the cleaner that I am terribly allergic to ,; Fabuloso? It literally takes my breath away. We avengers restaurant many times before it changed hands. They have completely redecorated and I was very impressed with how nice and bright and clean it is. The food was good , not cheap but good. I have never tasted charro beans or salsa like that. They put something in them and they were amazing. I ordered the seafood chimichanga it was quite good. It was about $18 for dinner good size portions. They had two for one margaritas so I got two margaritas for a very good price. The waitress was extremely attentive. My only complaint was the music. They had a couple come in singing country music and it was really good songs. However, it was EXTREMELY LOUD. If you have read any of my other reviews, . I absolutely hate that. My son and I were sitting across from each other in a booth and we were screaming our heads off trying to hear each other. Not only was it painful on the ears but there is nothing worse than sitting in a restaurant trying to speak to your dinner companion and not being able to hear them across the table my son literally told me text me from across the table!. It was great until the music started blaring. I started asking to turn it down like I said the song for good they were good singers but it was just way too loud. We couldn't wait to get out of there. Otherwise we need to find around and lingered over our dinner. So I would give them about a 3-star rating it would be 4* but again the meal was destroyed when we couldn't hear each other and were screaming at the top of our lungs. Turn the music down Pedro's you're running your customers away and you have a lovely restaurant, fantastic service and food. You just need to...
