Went on Tuesday afternoon the food was good so later on that night my wife and I returned to a late dinner and drink. We asked for a table for two and were told the kitchen was closed. Odd since we were told by the staff earlier that day that Blondes was open till midnight and the kitchen closed at 10:30. It was barely 10pm. The young ladies who were either the weight staff or the hostesses did not seem happy that we knew their kitchen schedule and we were informed that “ yeah, but they were ready to go”
After asking to speak to a manager, I was informed that the bartender was the manager, and I could speak to him. He too, informed me that the kitchen was about ready to close but when I asked “so is 10:30 your closing time according to your corporate headquarters or is it yours and your staff duty to determine the business hours? “ He seemed a little perturb that as a paying customer me and my wife engage in our part of the transaction that would usually occur in any restaurant. So when I asked him for his corporate number or email so I may get in touch with them to find out their proper operating hours and closing procedures he informed me that the kitchen was still open, but for another four minutes. He was so sorry for any miscommunication and that the kitchen was still open and that he and the staff believed we had other guests that were still coming in even though they knew it was just me and the wife. After a few drinks and a few minutes, the BLT and the turkey club that my wife and I had ordered arrived at the table with the steak fries. The sandwiches appeared hastily made, and these steak fries were hot on the outside, but ice cold on the inside So my guess is that they had already had the fryer off and had to turn them back on to cook the fries. We left chalking up the experience that just a bunch of lazy employees who worry more about partying than doing their job since the constant parade of servers going up to find out what they were doing that evening, seem to be of the utmost importance over handling of guest in the restaurant. Now look, I’ve spent many years working in the food industry as a server and other positions and I know that you know when it’s time for the restaurant to shut down, you wanna get out of there but business hours are business hours, and if that’s not the job you want to do then find something else.
I wish that I could say that our experience with Blondies ended there, but unfortunately, I fear something else might’ve happened. A few hours later, which would be yesterday morning, I woke up, feeling extremely ill to my stomach. Followed shortly about two hours later by my wife, feeling ill to her stomach. Both of us suffering from extreme diarrhea and burps that smell like burning, sulfur or rotten eggs for now two days. Were we a victim of what those in the industry call the “chef’s revenge”or the “shitty finger”? I hate to say it but I believe so. Do yourselves a favor, avoid this place.
The edit After calling the establishment to find out if there is a corporate or general manager‘s number that I could get a hold of I was told that there is an email address I asked for a phone number so the kind young lady without putting me on hold was talking to a gentleman Who came onto the phone cussing and laughing saying this ought to be good and when I informed him that the phone was not on hold, and I could hear them talking and laughing his attitude seem to change a little bit. He claimed to be the owner named “Von Meyer”, if he is the owner then the Behavior and attitude of a staff starts to make sense” and at that second he was reviewing the security camera footage cause he was “ Gonna fire some people “ . When I explained to him the illnesses that me and my wife were going through his attitude shifted once again from being that helpful owner that was gonna come to the bottom of why his kitchen was closed To laughing and saying that he was done with the conversation and told me that I can complain all I want and sarcastically that he hopes it goes viral...
Read moreOn 7/13/2021 my husband and I attended your Las Vegas location on Las Vegas Blvd. We were excited to travel to Vegas and this was one of many restaurants we were looking forward to trying.
However, our experience was unacceptable and by far the worst dinning experience we have had in years.
The restaurant was fairly empty during our visit and it seems we now know why. We were quickly seated and the menu had several items that sounded good. Our server recommended the Nashville hot chicken sandwich versus the Philly cheesesteak. I took the servers recommendation and ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich.
The food arrived in a decent amount of time. However, the chicken in my sandwich was ice cold and had a rubber texture. It was completely inedible. I advised the server who took the sandwich back and put it in the microwave.
She brought the food back out and the plate was warm from the microwave to include all the contents like coleslaw and ketchup which should have been cold. Proving the food was not remade and only microwaved. The bun and sandwich came back and were both rock hard. I attempted to take a bite and could not even break off a piece because of how hard the chicken was. Even my husband tried to bite into it and spit it out because it was inedible.
My husband ordered the chicken ceasar wrap with GRILLED chicken. The chicken in the wrap was cubed, bland / with no seasoning, and was clearly not grilled like it should have been. The chicken appeared and tasted as if it came out of a can or microwaved bag. It is pretty tough to mess up a grilled chicken Caesar wrap, and he couldn’t even stomach to eat more than two bites.
In reference to my meal, the server never asked if the “fixed” meal was better or if there was anything else she could do to better our experience. Our waters were empty and had only been refilled one time and for the remainder sat empty. The server never acknowledged that neither of us ate our food and we had pushed it off to the edge of the table.
The table was not pre bussed and never any boxes offered (absolute lack of service training).
No manager ever touched our table or addressed the issues. The food was microwaved and not remade. The server avoided our table and displayed no customer service skills.
We wasted $40 for our food and ate none of it. We then went and ate at Flights and had an amazing experience and great food.
Days later I still feel as though this experience was unacceptable and I will share this experience with others in reviews so they do not waste their money and time. Also as a general manager of a restaurant, I believe the training issues need to also...
Read moreWe arrived at Blondies for breakfast around mid-morning. The place was busy, but there were empty tables—some with leftover food from previous patrons, others ready for new guests. A party of six ahead of us was turned away by a young greeter who claimed there were no tables available. However, another server intervened and told the greeter that the group could have been seated at table 15. Fortunately for us, we were then seated at table 15.
We were greeted with a sense that staff didn't want to be at work nor serve us that day. We really first wanted to order coffee. This restaurant serves an Italian coffee bean popular amongst their patrons. Unfortunately, we waited about 15 minutes for drinks because no one came to take our order. We eventually stopped a busboy and asked for coffee. Did they not want our money? Did they not want to serve us drinks? We even wondered if they offered free refills to anyone because I didnt see anyone getting refills. .
Eventually, I had to get up and ask the manager for coffee. To their credit, the manager was friendly, promptly served us our coffee, and made the experience feel a bit more welcoming. However, we had already waited a long time, and this was frustrating, especially since our family had gathered for breakfast to catch up and discuss our plans for the day.
We ordered the standard breakfast options: eggs, sausage, toast, and a burrito breakfast. I can personally vouch for the burrito—it was very filling and absolutely delicious, served with a small cup of tomato sauce. A refill eventually came, and I left satisfied with the food.
In summary, the food was excellent, but the service left much to be desired. This is why I’m giving a middle-of-the-road review. In my opinion, food, drinks, service, and the restaurant’s ambiance are equally important. I had read many negative reviews and comments on TikTok about Blondies, but I still wanted to visit and form my own opinion. Would I return? I might—but not until management starts taking these reviews seriously and works on improving the service. Until then, I’ll wait for their ratings to rise.
